Where we stayed in Barcelona. Very nice, good price, (30 Euros for a double w/bathroom), and a great location; the other side of Placa de Catalunya from Las Ramblas.

When I asked the Airbnb host about local farmer’s market, she told me about a neighboring farm I can visit. The farm has a Facebook page but it was not super clear. Sounded like I might be able to make an appointment to pick some figs. So I booked a time with them. The response came back and told me all the figs has been picked for today. I told the farmer I’m staying overnight and would be interested to come by if the farm is available the next day. I was told tomorrow’s time slots were already booked. But later the night I was contacted again and said there’s a cancellation so I can come by if I’m still interested. I figured sure, since I didn’t have anything planned for the next day. I walked to the farm and meet the farmer. She taught me how to pick the ripe figs and showed me different types of figs in her farm. Our half hour appointment was quickly up. She wanted to show me the rest of her plants and didn’t mind the time was up. She let me tasted the stevia leaf, juju beans, fresh almonds, and finger lemon. I have never seen a finger lemon before. It tasted really good too. She had so many different plants in her farm - mango, citrus, peaches, apples, asparagus, persimmons, avocados, pearls, chestnuts… I had an amazing time at her farm. At the end, I paid $4 for an assortment of figs, juju beans, citrus, finger limes, and almonds. What an amazing experience that was. Something I did not expect from this trip!
Penn State Harrisburg hosted local businesses and organizations in the Community Resource Fair for students on Wednesday, August 22.
Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch., Commander, Installation Management Command, will host a flag uncasing ceremony for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Oct. 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Joseph W. Westphal, Under Secretary of the United States Army, will be the guest speaker.
The ceremony represents the presence of the installation management community and the assumption of the command's authority in San Antonio. The installation management community includes the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Headquarters and two major subordinate commands: U.S. Army Environmental Command and the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command.
IMCOM temporarily occupies leased space in northeastern San Antonio until the new IMCOM Headquarters Building on Fort Sam Houston is completed in October 2011.
Uncasing the flag exemplifies how IMCOM, headquartered in "Military City USA," is transforming to make Army installations the Army's Home.
U.S. Army Installation Management Command Organizational Day Festivities
Soldiers, Civilian employees and their Families took a break from their normal, busy work schedules to participate in team building activities and celebrate the recent transition of the IMCOM headquarters to San Antonio, Texas.
