Dick Moehl--to the left, and behind--has been president of the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association since 1983. It's a long tenure with many accomplishments.
Terry Pepper--to the right, in the foreground--is executive director of the GLKKA. He's also the author/webmaster of Seeing the Light, which has long been on my list of favorite websites.

Lichfield CC hosted a Warwickshire CCC side in August 1987 in aid of Geoff Humpage's benefit season. Several well-known players took part, including Humpage himself, Dennis Amiss, and a young Allan Donald.

UI Health Care STEM Education hosted an interactive STEM experience for children of UI Carver College of Medicine alumni during the Alumni Reunion Weekend on campus. Students had the opportunity to engage with current UI Carver College of Medicine students. During this experience students held real human organs, watched a video of common procedures performed at UI Hospitals and Clinics, tried their hands at minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, learned basic physical exam skills and learned about bone health and the process of casting.
University of Iowa Health Care is committed partners with formal and informal educators and community organizations across the state to advance STEM literacy to inspire the next generation of health care professionals and build a foundation for children to understanding their own health. In FY2015, more than 16,000 school age children were engaged in hands on learning provided by 260 faculty, staff and students.

Elmora School 12 hosted its annual Multicultural Show, ”One World, Many Stories” on Friday, June 5th. Parents and students in the audience danced and sang along with the performers on stage. Many standing ovations were given to the performers. Dances, poetry, and songs from all over the world were showcased. Teachers surprised the audience with a dance of many Medleys from all over the world.
The highlight of the show was the parade, where over 100 students walked into the Gym to the song “Coming to America.” Students and staff members walked in a line wearing native clothing from their country, waving the American Flag. It was an emotional and patriotic beginning. Students and parents were able to celebrate diversity, learn about other cultures, and pay tribute to this great country for educating so many children from all over the world!

On Friday, January 15, 2016, Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Academy American Spirit Group for SkillsUSA, hosted the 3rd Annual Veterans’ Luncheon. The Veterans’ luncheon was an annual event held in Edison Academy’s Tea Room and it provided the opportunity for the students to show their patriotism for people who served in the armed services. SkillsUSA members greeted the Veterans as they entered. Students at this event mingled, and played board games with the veterans; and the veterans, in turn, shared their experiences with the students. To express their gratitude students presented each veteran with a certificate that read, “The willingness of America’s Veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude,“ which is a quote from Jeff Miller. An added component to the program was the work of the culinary arts students who planned cooked a four course meal for the veterans. The Edison Academy American Spirit Group for SkillsUSA has a mission to provide community service and educational programs to students, parents, and schools.

Approximately 150 civilian and military cyber professionals, including National Guard Soldiers and Airmen from Nebraska and four other states, and international participants from the Czech Republic and Ukraine conduct a training exercise at the Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska, June 17 – July 1, 2022. “Cyber Tatanka,” is the first exercise of its kind hosted by the National Guard in Nebraska, bringing together experts from the public and private sector as well as the military to test one another on a shared network built specifically for this event. The purpose of the exercise was to provide assessments of organizational network defense effectiveness across multiple areas of critical infrastructure and to foster opportunities to build interagency and public/private sector relationships for sharing capabilities and information. The 401st Army field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs.
