Amherst, Ma.
The Homestead was painted as part of the years long restoration project to return the the home to how it looked when Dickinson was alive, this is the color it was then. Currently, Emily's bedroom is being renovated to the same period, and soon her solarium will be re-created on the east side of the house. Next door, the Evergreens will be returned to its original state also, that is going a bit slower, but a lot of what exists there now is unchanged from when Austin and family lived there.
There is no home like one you've got, cause that home belongs to you...
Inspired by the movie "Bolt".
This photo was taken with a plastic toy camera. It's a long story about such a camera.
I was riding home one afternoon when suddenly saw 2 women by the street trying to sell away tons of plastic toy cameras with water-proof cover. $1 for each. I was so curious and decided to stop by.
These water-proof toy cameras are gifts from Dove Cosmetic company for their customers who buy cosmetic for over 300.000 VND (around $17) at Christmas.
Some workers stole some of those cameras from the Dove Cosmetic factory, then sold them away.
Guess what, it's a 35mm range-finder camera with a 28mm lens, free focus. Only one button on the camera for shooting and 1 wheel to wind the film, nothing else.
No hesitation, I bought a roll of Fujifilm Superia 200 and test the camera.
Also, this camera can be used not only once, but many times. How's that? $1 for such a thing? Did I get a great deal? ;)
I'm experimenting with new color settings that create a completely different "look". Looking forward to your comments....

A diner on the edge of Yaletown , now gone and replaced by yet another ugly tower of overpriced tiny condos that leak , Vancouver's history slowly disappearing
Sometimes I just want to play around with lights and shadows and stuff. So, today I set up my living room with my white muslin backdrop, SB600 flash on shoot-thru umbrella, and used a white poster board for a bounce card. I took some self-portraits, but then my wife came home and "modeled" for me a little bit. Her photos are so much better than the selfies!
strobist: SB600 thru umbrella, high and camera right, fired with CyberSync, set at 1/8 power
The blue ceanothus is on the front wall of my cottage and the wisteria climbs over an arch through which you pass to get to the front door.I prune it hard ( not into old wood) after flowering so it never gets more than 18-24 inches deep

Photo Caption: Old Kalasha woman in Rumbur village, Pakistan. Kalasha people, the only pagans surviving on a huge Muslim-populated territory, are essentially trapped in their three mountain valleys, with limited access to public health services. Eye problems in old Kalasha people are common, including partial or full blindness.

The Manger-Style Home Birthing Kit. A tongue-in-cheek Christmas card from 2010. Instead of giving another holiday card that would inevitably end up in the recycling bin, I decided to give something a little more useful—a wooden spoon. Lucky recipients can use the utensil to stir the family dinner or bite down on it if things get too painful to bear around the holidays.
When the Maxima and Supra came home, I had already acquired the Skyline...little did I know that it would go on to star in the sequel.

We are ecstatic that Cricket is still living and doing well. He has just come home from the vet (around 4:45 PM here)and is still wobbly and out of it. His legs are splayed to keep himself upright, He went back to sleep once I put his house back.
I got him around 9 PM after fixing his wet food (mixture of Critical Care, ground up regular food, Benebac, Nutrical). He will only eat it if the top is sweetened. We also have some sticky rice which we make a little ball of and leave it in his easy reach dish. The other things he has are a bit of soy cheese, some freeze-dried sweet potato, and a cheese Yogi. He needs calories and sleep. He comes out and chows down part of what's there before heading back to sleep.
We tried having him out, but he didn't want to be picked up or to stay with someone. We finally put him in a shoe box to see how he was doing. He went to the corner and peed a lot. So much for that box! He was so wobbly that we had to put him back to bed.
Several friends have been playing around with low-light and nighttime photography, and their results have been intriguing. So I decided to try it. This was shot at 9 PM. The bugs finally drove me inside.
Doug and I finally bought our dream loft! I haven't really had a chance to take too many photos with work and everything going on so I took the time out today to make something a bit silly :)
That's how I look when I walk home from school. Well, sometimes I wear different scarves!
iPod in my ear, scarf around my neck, bags on my shoulders.
Can anyone tell me why it isn't just summer yet?!?
