In a very spur of the moment decision I decided to head down to Cumberland once I heard that CSX's B&O Heritage Unit would be leading on home rails across Sandpatch Grade. After a couple hours waiting around in Cumberland the chase was finally on, and boy did it pick up quick. For the most part it was cloudy the whole way, but when I got to Glencoe the sky finally opened up just enough for the golden afternoon light to poke through. This is probably the only photo I'll ever edit and use from this chase, but regardless it was a helluva ride through the mountains!
Nothing like a quiet night to read and being connected to yourself.

In case anyone was worried about Fairbanks having a white Christmas...not to worry.
However, it has been really weird weather. In the last week we've had two tropical weather systems blow into town. Last night we had 14" of snow, however, now it's raining which is very unusual here this time of year.

This lovely Blythe doll is Spring Hope. My lovely friend Angie Coppi made the super cute kitty cushions on the sofa. She and I exchanged Christmas packages, and she also sent me the pretty candy-striped dress and the dolly-sized cakes, among other things. Thanks Angie!
