Up there with the most unusual vehicles we've had to work on is this preserved Budapest Ikarus 260. It now lives in the UK, owned by Ikarus enthusiasts Dave Fricker and Michael Sherston.

The bus conforms to continental practice of limited seating capacity, maximum standing and three entrance / exits. Unusually for a relatively modern city bus though, it's high floored and underfloor engined. The latter is no doubt due to its length of time in production from when such a layout was pretty much standard. The Raba engine is a horizontal 6 cylinder turbo unit of about 9.6 litres and I believe owes its parentage in the dim distant past to MAN.

The photo was taken this evening as I left work, the Ikarus and the adjoining Royal Blue RE looked good in the car headlights so I thought I'd stop for a snap.

....well.. One has to look the part, doesn't one? Even if one is listening to the radio and dancing around like a loony all day 📻😉

The Hopson-Hornak home, circa 1862, in the Corunna Historical Village.

I was driving down the street with my wife and seen these turkeys hanging out in front of this house. So we stopped and got out and took some pictures!

A picture I took a few years ago not to far from my home. It is actually still standing if you call this standing. Always loved old buildings and sometimes I make a effort to get some pictures.

对你而言,这里可能破烂简陋, 但这里可是我的家, 是我吃喝玩乐和 睡觉, 温暖的家.

A family friend made us a pan of lasagna for last New Year, Jan. 1, 2024. It was damn good and the leftovers went quickly. Hope everyone who celebrates does so with a great meal.

DAY 10 HOME SWEET HOME…

We are safely back home.

We came in at 4 this morning, tired and satisfied.

It was a real sentimental and photographic journey.

I love ‘going’ and I also love ‘returning’, like I said, the temperatures were what most people dream of for their holidays, warm, dry, blue skies… euuhh, not me… I prefer not too hot, sun in and out, some interesting white fluff in the blue. LOL

Especially in a city like Brugge, where streets are narrow and the old stone walls retain and radiate the heat! But apart from that, it was fabulous, met family and friends, spent some lovely time together, good food, great memories.

I wish you all the very best and thanx for all your kind words, time, comments, likes and faves. Very much appreciated.

Some polaroids. I found out that covering the flash with cardboard (unless there is a way to disactivate it, which I didn't find -I'm pretty dumb-), gives results that I like.
