This is the view from the main bedroom in Hoggie Cottage. You can lie on your bed and squizzie what the locals are doing doer down in Alice (provided you have veeery good eyes)

A gorgeous sky at the end of a beautiful winter day.

At Letchworth State Park in upstate New York. An extremely hot and dry summer has kept water levels down to a trickle. One year previously, heavy rain had flooded out this entire valley to halfway up the cliffs shown here.

I continue to be amazed by this geological masterpiece in Letchworth SP. When you look at how much water here is at the falls 15 miles south and come up here to see the thin flow, you first scratch your head.....until you realized that the giant Mt. Morris dam not far downstream from here controls everything.

This is Hoggie cottage' main bedroom. It has a queen size bed and bit of antiques that Thaaitjie and me have sourced from everywhere. The persian comes from one of JD's compulsive obessive auctioneering sprees!!

This is the main cottage bedroom with its ton of linnen. This bed has a fantabulistic few over the valley.

At one point, the road between Escalante and Boulder runs right along the top of a ridgeline, barely wide enough for a two-lane road. It's called the Hogsback - and it is a SENSATIONAL drive.
