I think I am going to try and stick to sort of a chronological catch up on my stream. So, we're going two months back to May 19th when I had the freaking awesome opportunity to climb Hood. I took quite a few shots and it was an awesome sunrise way up there. I also spent some time updating my blog, so if you're interested enough to read details on the climb, check it out here.
The barley field has been harvested, ploughed and replanted and new growth has appeared. The dark wooded hill in the centre of the image is Chantry Wood and the sunlit field below it is the rape/poppy field also now harvested. Atop the hill is St Martha's Church. I was on my way to visit the gardens at Loseley House.
Harvested on Saturday. Another lovely walk with Margaret and Suki, across the Hog's Back, past the now harvested barley field to the pond at Loseley. We then took a different path and went to Polstead and picked up the bridleway which crosses the North Downs Way and leads back to the ridge of the Hog's Back. Then back along the trackway on the ridge in the welcome shade of the trees. Attractive wild flowers and insects in summer sunshine.
I don't know what happened, but Aperture decided to repost this photo. When this happens, all comments and faves are gone. Very frustrating when it does that. Makes me want to switch to Lightroom.

Many parts og Hogsback derive their names from the Lord of The Rings books. It's said that J.R.R Tolkien was influenced by his surroundings of Hogsback and it's forests, for his ideas in his book.
A walk with Margaret and Suki past the barley field which has now been harvested, ploughed and replanted. We went to the lake at Loseley and back via a path which leads back up to the A31 and back via the Hog's Back. Suki had an operation on her eye last week and has to wear a cone, so she kept bashing it into things but seemed to be very happy to be out and about. The west facing slopes of the Hog's Back still have flowers attracting butterflies.
The copper beds still have the original lace covers of Susans great grandmother on them. Warm duvets, down duvets and blankets will make sure that you sleep like a princess!
Here is a picture of the sky from Hogsback Road near Red Bluff California. I was visiting the area with my friend to go geocaching. The road is notorious for being rough and bumpy.
This picture is of an old (Sentinel i believe) steam delivery lorry, still in use today at the Hogsback Brewery.
Diane and Tish (our estate agents) spoilt us with a romantic dinner at the most incredible eating place in Hogsback.
