Just past Calf Creek campground in Utah there's a great stretch of road along Scenic Route 12 that splits right through the Escalante canyons providing an amazing view to the east and west portion of the region. The road is so slim that if you were to take 5 five steps to either side of the road you would drop off a cliff. This stretch of roadway is called the Hogsback. I found this formation while scouting the area while driving towards the town of Boulder Utah.
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my photos, and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great evening everybody!! :)

Northwest of Lake Mills is a recreational area for public hunting, hiking, fishing and picnics depending on the season. It is actually called Hogsback Management Area, and there is much speculation on where that name originated.
It's a quiet peaceful area only minutes from Minnesota, and I was there yesterday morning to capture the blue shadows.

119 thunders westward along Houghton Lake bathing in summer evening light at Drefal as the sounds of rumbling GEs echo off the rugged northern Ontario landscape. The calm waters of the Hogsback Channel (frame right) link Houghton Lake with a series of other interconnected lakes and streams including Biscotasi Lake to the north, Mishap Lake to the south and Indian Lake to the west where paddlers can explore remote campsites and even make their way to the West Branch of the Spanish River eventually if ambitious enough - MP 52 Nemegos Sub.
I enjoyed watching the sun set but after the sun slipped behind the ridge, the colours just turned to grey, with no afterglow.
The Hogback Stone which once lay in the churchyard at St Peter’s Church Heysham is one of the most ornately carved and best preserved example in the British Isles. The decoratively carved stone dates back to around 950 ad and may have originally marked an important grave; these tombstones are uniquely British and exemplify the mixing of Viking/Danish pagan beliefs with early Anglian Christianity. There is a lot of information on the Internet about these stones all over Great Britain but whatever their original meaning it is wonderful that they are preserved for us all to admire and know something of our history.
Taken as part of my "High-Key" photo topic assignment. Frozen shoreline at the Hogsback Falls on the Rideau River in Ottawa, Canada.
The amount of water surrounding the Hogsback depends more on the back-up from the Mt. Morris dam upstream than the flow of the Genesee River itself. I always have to stop here and take a look when I am in Letchworth.
Ended up at Hog's Back Falls during a great weekend adventure.

It was so windy during the day that we cancelled golf and watched Test Cricket on TV. The wind subsided later and I stretched my legs with the stiff walk up The Mount to the Hog's Back for sundown. This is the view towards Charterhouse School from the now harvested barley field which has featured earlier this summer.
