Highest peak of the earth!

Ebright Azimuth is the highest point in the state of Delaware. It is not even on a hill. The highpoint is in a residential area. The landscaping makes it difficult to determine the true "natural" high point.

After the steep climb that bench is very welcome.

Zugspitze is the highest peak in Germany, and a popular skiing destination. It lies right on the border with Austria, and so both countries independently built extensive tourist facilities, including cogwheel trains to ascend. Nowadays in the EU, you can freely cross over the border right on the peak.

Sadly, visibility was quite poor when we visited.

This is about as high as I could get. I tried to get higher (had to beat A Cal, right?), but I just couldn't get my left pick to hold anywhere

Unmarked waterfall on the Red Deer River, shot on a possible first descent by canoe on June 26, 2020 of the uppermost continuously paddleable reach of this river, starting just below this waterfall. The descent was done self-supported in an Alpaka Forager self-bailing tandem canoe raft, requiring 20 miles of backpacking to reach the put in.

Photo story:

I went with my parents to our terrain in the mountain, so I didn´t want to lose the chance of picking up some wheels, place them under the trees we cared of when I was a child and take some photos. Very difficult lighting conditions there, but place was worth the effort.

Joe J. Hayashi (August 14, 1920 – April 22, 1945) was a United States Army soldier and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration—the Medal of Honor—for his actions in World War II.

Hayashi's official Medal of Honor citation reads:

Private Joe Hayashi distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action on 20 and 22 April 1945, near Tendola, Italy. On 20 April 1945, ordered to attack a strongly defended hill that commanded all approaches to the village of Tendola, Private Hayashi skillfully led his men to a point within 75 yards of enemy positions before they were detected and fired upon. After dragging his wounded comrades to safety, he returned alone and exposed himself to small arms fire in order to direct and adjust mortar fire against hostile emplacements. Boldly attacking the hill with the remaining men of his squad, he attained his objective and discovered that the mortars had neutralized three machine guns, killed 27 men, and wounded many others. On 22 April 1945, attacking the village of Tendola, Private Hayashi maneuvered his squad up a steep, terraced hill to within 100 yards of the enemy. Crawling under intense fire to a hostile machine gun position, he threw a grenade, killing one enemy soldier and forcing the other members of the gun crew to surrender. Seeing four enemy machine guns delivering deadly fire upon other elements of his platoon, he threw another grenade, destroying a machine gun nest. He then crawled to the right flank of another machine gun position where he killed four enemy soldiers and forced the others to flee. Attempting to pursue the enemy, he was mortally wounded by a burst of machine pistol fire. The dauntless courage and exemplary leadership of Private Hayashi enabled his company to attain its objective. Private Hayashi's extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit on him, his unit, and the United States Army.

Titicaca is a large, deep lake in the Andes on the border of Bolivia and Peru, often called the "highest navigable lake" in the world. By volume of water and by surface area, it is the largest lake in South America.

Puno is a city in southeastern Peru, located on the shore of Lake Titicaca. It is the capital city of the Puno Region and the Puno Province with a population of approximately 140,839.

Peru is a country in western South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the west by the Pacific Ocean.

Peru is a magical destination, abundant with ancient ruins dating back to the Incas.

Peru is the third largest country in South America, after Brazil and Argentina.

The Pine Mountain Range is a long ridge in Meriwether County, Georgia, Harris County, Georgia, and Talbot County, Georgia. In fact, the highest altitudes in all three of these west Georgia counties can be found along the range.

The Pine Mountain Range is part of a larger geological feature known as the Pine Mountain Terrane, which extends into eastern Alabama. The ridge in Georgia exceeds 1,100 feet of elevation for a distance of about 20 miles. These are the highest elevations at so southerly a latitude in the eastern half of the continental United States. (The entire Pine Mountain Terrane is geologically distinct from the Appalachian Range, which terminates farther north in Georgia and Alabama.)

The high point on the ridge (1395 ft.) is at Dowdell's Knob. President Franklin D. Roosevelt had a brick oven and picnic area constructed at this location for use during his many stays at his house in nearby Warm Springs. The Pine Mountain range begins around Lake Harding. At the extreme eastern end of the Pine Mountain ridge, it is intersected by the Flint River, forming the steep bluffs of Sprewell Bluff State Park.

Steamboat Geyser is located in the Back Basin of Yellowstone’s Norris Geyser Basin. Major eruptions of Steamboat Geyser are the tallest in the world. This feature first appeared on 11 August 1878 after a hydrothermal explosion. This was similar to, but larger than, the 5 September 1989 Porkchop Geyser hydrothermal explosion event, which occurred in the same geyser basin. Steamboat Geyser consists of two vents in a gentle hillside of rhyolitic ash-flow tuff (Lava Creek Tuff, lower Middle Pleistocene, 640 ka). Initially, the vents were powerful fumaroles that emitted steam and some mud. By 1879, moderately high to high geyser eruptions occurred. Small to large eruptions occurred at Steamboat Geyser from the late 1870s to the early 1910s. This was followed by 50 years of dormancy. Geyser eruptions resumed in the 1960s, followed by dormancy during the early and mid-1970s. More major eruptions occurred in the early 1980s, followed by sporadic to rare events from the mid-1980s to the 2000s. One major eruption occurred in May 2005. Others occurred at the end of July in 2013 and in September 2014. Steamboat entered an active phase in spring 2018 and was remarkable for having semi-regular major eruptions (about once a week) in May to June 2018.

Major eruptions of Steamboat Geyser have fountains of water reaching over 100 feet high. The highest have been close to 400 feet high - the highest on Earth. Major eruptions are normally not at regular intervals and thus are usually not predictable. The water phases of Steamboat’s major eruptions are about 3 to 40 minutes long, followed by hours of roaring fumarole activity (steam phase).

Normal activity at Steamboat Geyser consists of frequent splashing spouts that reach about 10 to even 60 feet high. Emitted water at Steamboat Geyser is somewhat acidic and quite hot.

Shown here is Steamboat Geyser the day before its major eruption on 4 June 2018.

Took my attention in Santa Monica, California (Dec 2012). It was grossly overpriced for its' time. However gas prices continued to hike for the next two years and got almost close to the prices of this greedy gas station, then free fall came and it's now sold around $1.50 a gallon. It's amazing how fluctuant commodities markets are!
