The Oklahoma State Highest Point, Black Mesa
Black Mesa is the highest point in Oklahoma at 4,975 feet above sea-level. Black Mesa is located in Oklahoma's panhandle along the tri-state border with Colorado and New Mexico. It is named from the layer of black lava rock that coated the mesa about 30 million years ago. Igneous rocks are much more durable and erosion-resistant than the sedimentary rocks that they overlay; thus, the borders of the lava flow form a sort of cap that prevents the rock beneath them from being eroded as quickly as the rock immediately next to the flow's boundary. This type of process is what formed Black Mesa. Mesa comes from Spanish and Portuguese meaning "table" or "table mountain".
At 3506 feet above sea level, it is the highest point in North Dakota. It is located SE of Amidon, North Dakota.

The highest paved highway in the world and a remarkable engineering feat that stretches from the Taklamakan dessert of Xinjiang China through some of the highest and most rugged mountain ranges in the world (the Himalayas, etc), with some of the tallest mountains a mere stone throw from the road (K2) to Pakistan. This is one of the great roads of the world and one of the most spectacular tips you can ever make. Bring plenty of warm clothing, food, and prepare for altitude sickness -- at some points, you are 5000 meters above sea level. On the Pakistan side, there are 5 mountains over 8000 meters tall.
Beachy Head is the highest chalk cliff in England, at 162 metres above sea level. It is a truly beautiful spot, with terrific views out to sea and all across the South Downs.
Whilst I was there I saw the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team on patrol. A visit to their website shows the incredibly valuable work they do every year helping extremely vulnerable people. www.bhct.org.uk/wp/

After you reach the summit of South Sister, you still have to make a short hike around the rim to reach the highest point.
The tallest of the mountains rises to 945 meters (3600 feet), the highest peak in Gujarat. The first peak of Girnar has a collection of Digambar and Shwetambar temples. The Shwetambar temples are more intricately carved but are more modern in terms of history. A sturdy stone path — a pilgrimage route for both Hindus and Jains — climbs from peak to peak. It is claimed that there are exactly 9,999 steps from the trailhead to the last temple on the highest peak, but the actual number is roughly 8,000. Every year, a race is held, running from the base of the mountain to the peak and back.
