The river is all tucked in for the duration.
The snow really delineates where the original riverbed is and then the wetland area that it spills into during times of high water. The snow in the foreground is the front yard by the house. There is a 7-8' drop down from the front yard. To my knowledge, the water has never come into the front yard.
Enjoyed some time on Amston Lake from the Lebanon, CT side. Long time since I have been on that side. It was a balmy 28 degrees.
It is a feature of houses in france that they have shutters. One is obliged by law to close them if you leave thehouse for more than a day or the home insurance is invalidated.
It also seems to be a feature of our house that the space behind the folded back (open) shutters is a preferred place for over wntering mini beasts. Hereare some. LOL
