Like a bear waiting for the signal that spring has arrived these round bales hibernate by a fenceline in a field.
What attracts my eye is the bluish tone along the top of the drift that has goatherd on their tops. As well, the shadow of the wire cast on the bright snow below.

found an injured robin in my garden which my cat spotted - took it inside, put it in a box, gave it seeds. it was lay like this for ages, then about an hour later it started to fly around in our kitchen.

Finally out into the great outdoors again! The snow stopped by the time I struck out with my sherpa, laden with camera bag and tripod, so I had to scrap the idea I had for my shot for today. I decided to hit an area at the edge of my "zone", so see what was available. I am interested in seeing how much further I can go when there is no snow, and I am not stumbling for half my steps!
I caught this alongside an apartment on a sidestreet. I love the way bushes get buried in the winter and get to hibernate. They become full of life again in the spring, and I always wonder at how hearty all the plants in Ohio must be to put up with all that they do.
I wanted to get something minimalist, and the snow really helps to isolate subjects pretty well, so I tried this from about four different angles before getting the shot I felt looked right. I am finding new respect for the ZD 40-150mm mk1 lens every time I use it, it is so versatile!
