Not sure but I feel this is ready to cocoon itself in hibernation and metamorphose into a beauty sometime later .. Any help on ID would be welcome.

Awaiting the next season.

Massachusetts. January.

In my garden.

I partially uncovered this sleepyhead when I was tidying up the garden. You can just make him out in the dead leaves. Curled up tight into the front wall of my house. I took a quick photo and covered him up again - tidying will have to wait until he wakes up and moves on.

Found him under a log. He was cold and black.

The same place, but two weeks earlier ...

Inspired by the bare oak trees I saw out the window of the train last week.

Cyd's old '77 MB 450sl back from Winter Storage

My honey Karen took this one.

It's cold here - 11 F heading to 3 F tonight.

Karen took the new camera with the gnarly-good Sigma 17-70mm on it and grabbed some nice sleeping shots of Johanna, the cat queen. Johanna was hibernating while the Bears should have been - during the NFL Superbowl.

Just a quick snap of a catnap.

okay so this is my suggestion for all in the very cold weather!!! make some hot chocolate and cozy up to a nice fire place....avoid going outside!!

Waiting for the salt to work it's way off the road. Also need to change out the heat exchanger (can't wait any longer) and fix the interior door latch on the passenger side.
