Not sure but I feel this is ready to cocoon itself in hibernation and metamorphose into a beauty sometime later .. Any help on ID would be welcome.
In my garden.
I partially uncovered this sleepyhead when I was tidying up the garden. You can just make him out in the dead leaves. Curled up tight into the front wall of my house. I took a quick photo and covered him up again - tidying will have to wait until he wakes up and moves on.

there's a little MiG graveyard at the far end of Stead, where old jets are kept for future refurbishment or parts.

It's cold here - 11 F heading to 3 F tonight.
Karen took the new camera with the gnarly-good Sigma 17-70mm on it and grabbed some nice sleeping shots of Johanna, the cat queen. Johanna was hibernating while the Bears should have been - during the NFL Superbowl.

okay so this is my suggestion for all in the very cold weather!!! make some hot chocolate and cozy up to a nice fire place....avoid going outside!!
