Celebrate the coming of autumn and enjoy a sweet look at how the world changes along with the season.
We went from one eagle yesterday to several today.
These fine fellows were perched across from the viewing platform along the river. If you are patient, one will launch and do a fly by! (See my other post)
There were 3 groups along the river that I could see.
I'm hoping it's a sign that they are going to come around more regularly. It sure was nice listening to them chatter away. I've missed that!

I am flying away today to a magical land where Dragons live, work and fly. Of course all my dragons are people friendly. This is a land where dragons live side by side with people and Fae Folk.
Would you like to fly away with me....?

Here's an alternate take of an old photograph I enjoyed. An alternate exposure in the series that produced this shot, edited to my sensibilities today.

Couldn't think of an adequate story to go with this image. I'm drawn back to what it means to me looking at it. All I could think about was this song. It reminds me of my older brother I guess. Perhaps because I sat alone when photographing this scene, watching the darkness envelope these beautiful mountains and wished I wasn't. It brought back memories of many a late night spent with my older brother when we were teens. I took great comfort and trust in our conversations, his advice and opinion. We talked about everything under the sun and I remember many times sitting together and watching the stars rise high in the skies like a million tiny lanterns. It was my brother who also showed me this song before he left for boot camp. Since then we've both grown up and moved to different states but I think of those nights often when I'm up late.
Here's to
starry skies and memories of long nights... to loved ones who were willing to sit with us in both the cover of darkness and in the beauty of light.
Thank you as always for listening to my ramblings...
xx

Here is our beautiful boy, Galah BB. As you can see, his tummy is wet. Before I took him out of his cage, he was soaking himself in his water bowl! He loves it.
I stopped by the annual Lions Club carnival in Lexington today, and had fun with my zoom lens. I cranked up the shutter speed in the late afternoon sunshine.
Here is a bit of a mystery! This Gnatcatcher was in Hesston, KS on Nov 8th when it was 22 degrees at observation time? What?
It really was a beautiful afternoon yesterday. There was a real feeling of spring in the air. From here you see the former St Columbus church, the steeple spire and Inverness Castle.

Early morning back-light shot of this Cheetah family at Masai Mara! Very rapidly changing light conditions and a moving family.....challenges....!
Awesome to watch the Cheeta's in the early morning light and see how mom directed them to stay when she herself stood up moving away.
So many nice colored photos!
Enjoy watching the photos!

Ok, now here is today's news. I have put up a few extra shots today that relate to some that I hav recently uploaded. I will explain the links as we go. I have also disabled comments on some, I realise that duplications cause extra effort and while I am always grateful for you comments and thoughts, I do not want to push it for busy people. So here we go.
BTW, this marvellous Goose was at the Sandgate Golf Club in amongst a gaggle of white ones. They collect lost balls in their spare time.
