Here are a few photos from the past few weeks.
I haven't been able to spend much time on flickr lately and I will probably not have much time this month to spend on here as I just have too many problems at home and work to deal with. On top of that and Covid and wildfires, we had a major windstorm with hurricane force winds do tons of tree damage in my yard and neighborhood. We had one tree branch landing on my house and luckily not doing too much damage but there is still lots to clean up.
Thanks so much for visiting my photo stream and for any faves and comments! I greatly appreciate them and wish I had more time to thank each of you and to spend viewing your photos. May you all stay safe and healthy in these trying times.
Here is another photo of one of the beavers. At this time of year they collect the leaves which fall into their pond and eat them which is great for photographers as they slow down for a short moment when they are eating. :)
Couldn't think of an adequate story to go with this image. I'm drawn back to what it means to me looking at it. All I could think about was this song. It reminds me of my older brother I guess. Perhaps because I sat alone when photographing this scene, watching the darkness envelope these beautiful mountains and wished I wasn't. It brought back memories of many a late night spent with my older brother when we were teens. I took great comfort and trust in our conversations, his advice and opinion. We talked about everything under the sun and I remember many times sitting together and watching the stars rise high in the skies like a million tiny lanterns. It was my brother who also showed me this song before he left for boot camp. Since then we've both grown up and moved to different states but I think of those nights often when I'm up late.
Here's to
starry skies and memories of long nights... to loved ones who were willing to sit with us in both the cover of darkness and in the beauty of light.
Thank you as always for listening to my ramblings...
xx

Here is antoher picture from my lofoten trip. The picture was taken during the journey to my accomondation. The sun was close to the horizon for almost an hour and the light was so nice for a long time. And I had to stop and I needed to photograph the nice atmosphere. I hope you enjoy it ;)
Here is our beautiful boy, Galah BB. As you can see, his tummy is wet. Before I took him out of his cage, he was soaking himself in his water bowl! He loves it.
I stopped by the annual Lions Club carnival in Lexington today, and had fun with my zoom lens. I cranked up the shutter speed in the late afternoon sunshine.
20th December 2015
Hi everyone. This year I'm participating in a Flickr Photo Advent Calendar, organised by the wonderful Eva. Thirty one days in December, thirty one photographers and therefore, thirty one photographs. We have a group here on flickr, to ensure you guys can follow along.
This year has been very bittersweet. I've experienced one of the biggest (if not the biggest) photographic opportunity of my life (details about that will be released next year), I've finished university and have shot with some artists I've admired for years. But, behind the scenes I've been dealing with an incredible hardship in my personal life - something I am still coming to terms with and probably will be coming to terms with for the rest of my life. Please hug your loved ones this Christmas and be present. Be in the moment and treasure the ones you're surrounded by. I'll see you all next year and thank you all again for your amazing support. I'm really proud of what I've created this year and look forward to what's next.

The second of three abstract images of wrecked farm machinery. I was intrigued by the undulating, slightly fleshy shape of the corroded metal; the "oil here" port; a belly button if you will, leading into its unseen interior Co. Mayo, Ireland. .
It really was a beautiful afternoon yesterday. There was a real feeling of spring in the air. From here you see the former St Columbus church, the steeple spire and Inverness Castle.
DSC_2563. Taken in the wild in Masai Mara, Kenya.
Early morning back-light shot of this Cheetah family at Masai Mara! Very rapidly changing light conditions and a moving family.....challenges....!
Awesome to watch the Cheeta's in the early morning light and see how mom directed them to stay when she herself stood up moving away.
So many nice colored photos!
Enjoy watching the photos!
This will be the last upload for a while. ............

Ok, now here is today's news. I have put up a few extra shots today that relate to some that I hav recently uploaded. I will explain the links as we go. I have also disabled comments on some, I realise that duplications cause extra effort and while I am always grateful for you comments and thoughts, I do not want to push it for busy people. So here we go.
BTW, this marvellous Goose was at the Sandgate Golf Club in amongst a gaggle of white ones. They collect lost balls in their spare time.
Here is the reflection game I captured during a sunny Montreal morning. A cityscape in such an un-real framed view of the town.
The phrase "Here be Dragons" is reputed to appear on some ancient maps to denote uncharted or dangerous areas of the oceans. This stretch of the New Zealand's Northland coast would certainly deserve such a note.
These rocky outcrops are reasonably well-exposed here, but at high tide they lurk just below the surface waiting for those who are unaware!
Here is a cool image for a hot day. CN 2986 leads CSX train Q-388 at CP367 in Rochester, NY on March 16, 2018.
