Europe, Netherlands, Rotterdam, Feijenoord, De Hef, Matador 1 & 2 (cut from L & R)
Today the 'val' , the moving part, of the decommissioned (1993) rail way bridge 'De Hef' (P. Joosting, 1927) was removed for maintenance. It was a spectacular operation involving much heavy technology - prominent were the floating cranes Matador 1 & Matador 2 that lifted the 'val' from the bridge.

At Stansted, April 5th 1981.
Before Stansted, in Essex, England, was rebuilt as London Stansted (STN).
The Belfast was roughly based on the Bristol Britannia, and 10 were built for the Royal Air Force. Some of them lived on as heavy lift cargo planes with Heavylift.

Here in London’s Battersea Power Station, the great thing for visitors and historians alike is the fact that the developers have left elements from yesteryear in their original place – like, for example, this enormous double-girder overhead gantry crane in Turbine Hall B.
The gantry is still operational and can be utilised for heavy lifting when the shopping mall below is closed.

First flight 01May64 and delivered to the RAF as XR363 on 06Sep68. WFU and sold on 01Aug78. Delivered to TAC Heavylift at SEN on 01Mar79. Registered as G-OHCA on 10Sep81. Never flown and stored at SEN for spares. Scrapped 18Feb94.
Behind is sister ship G-BEPE, the former RAF XR362. WFU at SEN 28Oct84 and scrapped on 18Feb94.
Delivered to the RAF on 29Mar66 as XR368 and operated by 53 Squadron. Sold onto the UK civil register as G-BEPS to Pan African Freight Liners on 06Apr77. To Heavylift Cargo Airlines 04Sep78. Last flight 30Apr01 and stored at Souhend. Scrapped Mar08.
