Consolidated B-24J-85-CF Liberator 44-44052 to RAF as Liberator GR.VI KH191. To Indian AF as T-18. In Indian AF Technical College, Jalahali by 1972. Acquired by Warbirds of GB Ltd and delivered to UK by Heavylift May 6, 1982. Stored dismantled at Blackbushe AP, England. Purchased by Collings Foundation and shipped to USA in 1986 and restored to flying condition, flying for the first time after restoration Aug 1989. Now with Collings Foundation. Last flyable "real" B-24. Registered as N224J and named "All American" In 2009 was named "Witchcraft" and bore the number 252534 on the tail.
Over fifty years ago, in August 1944, the Collings Liberator was built at the Consolidated Aircraft Company's Fort Worth, Texas plant. Shortly afterward, the aircraft was delivered to the US Army Air Force and in October of 1944, it was transferred to the Royal Air Force. Under the British flag, the B-24 saw combat in the Pacific Theater in operations ranging from anti-shipping to bombing and re-supply of resistance force operations.
At war's end, the aircraft was abandoned by the RAF in a bomber graveyard in Khanpur, India; with the assumption that it would not fly again. However, in 1948, the Indian Air Force succeeded in restoring 36 B-24's, including 44-44052, to operational status. These aircraft were utilized until 1968 For the next 13 years, the aircraft sat abandoned in India until British aircraft collector, Doug Arnold, obtained it in 1981. The aircraft was disassembled and transported back to England in a Heavy Lift cargo plane. Once in England, the aircraft was advertised for sale in "as is" condition and in 1984, Dr. Robert F. Collings purchased it. After a sea voyage of three weeks, the B-24 arrived in Boston and was brought to Stow, MA in four truckloads.

This is the Bolder, Mammoet wordwide Headquarters, seen from the warf. Mammoet arranges it's corporate and worlwide services via her headquarters in Schiedam.
The building has 10 floors and is 42,5 meters high. It was build in 2002, but not on this location. It was build in a factory hall in Zwijndrecht. Then via ro/ro it was put on a ponton and sailed to it's location in Schiedam. There it was taken off via ro/ro again and placed onto it's foundation. Ofcourse a prestige project for a heavy lifting company like Mammoet.
The buildings weights 2500 tons! And it was a amazing sight to see this building sail by.

100 axle lines CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMTs assist 3200t giant bridge section roll onto the barge
www.chinaheavylift.com/news/100-axle-lines-chinaheavylift...
April 11 – With the strong support from CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT, our client Guangdong LIFT Engineering Machinery Co.,Ltd(GPEC) was contracted by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry to transport 3,200t giant bridge section roll-on to barge for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge project in Zhongshan city, Guangdong province.
This giant bridge section, which total weighed 3,200 tonnes and had the dimensions 132.6 m x 33.1 m, were transported from the fabrication facility yard to the barge by using total 100-axle lines SPMTs. So, how to move this giant steel structure onto the barge safely and accurately? As there’s over 20m distance from the bridge section and barge, crane is not suitable for this project. Based on the analysis of actual situation, our client GPEC choose the better solution of CHINAHEAVYLIFT S2.43 Self Propelled Modular Transporters(SPMT), which is more cost-effective and easier to operate.
Detail CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT transport system configuration:
100 axle lines S2.43 SPMT (10 units – 6 lines module, 10 units – 4 lines module) compose 4 big SPMT module
4 PPU (390kw Mercedes Benz engine for Power Pack Unit)
1 Wireless Remote control
Normally it will take 5-6 hours to roll-on, but in this project, we need complete the whole process in 2 hours as the reason of Tidal influence. Also, high precision is essential for roll-on, deviation is controlled smaller than 5mm in every 100m movement. This requires everyone and every steps close-cooperation and no mistake permitted.
The most difficult is, when SPMT move onto the barge, the barge will swing and tilt with the change of weight. So how to keep balance? Thanks to the hydraulic steady system of CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT, which adopt reliable Germany brand main components and have hydraulic compensation stroke of approx. 700mm (±350mm). Hydraulic support cylinder on suspension is connected to each other by steel pipes and hose. With a cut-off valve (ball valve) for grouping the hydraulic cylinder. Support system is set to three hydraulic group according to cargo weight, center of gravity location and road conditions. This ensures a uniform axle load in Uneven road when traveling. Besides, the barge is equiped with pressurized cabin to outward drainage to ensure the balance.
Through two hours efforts, CHINAHEAVYLIFT SPMT successfully assist the 3200t giant bridge section roll-onto the barge, this is the first step of HZMB CB02 project, one historic move in Chinese Bridge Construction area. But For CHINAHEAVYLIFT, just another case with SPMT.
Due to the dockside at ThamesPort being supported on stilts, The 180 tonne transformer had to be moved from the dockside to the truck park on ALE's 28 axle Nicolas girder frame trailer using two 300 tonne capacity 8x8 Faun ballast tractors. The combination is manouvered under 4 overhead locking gantries. The transformer is lifted of the girder frame and the trailer is taken apart beneath. After the girder frame is clear, the SPMT is driven underneath and loaded with transformer ready for road transport.
