These big loads which come out of Port Hedland, heading to BHP Billiton at Newman are 15 metres wide,so they can only move at night. The oversize escorts close the highway from truck bay to truck bay,so that they can get all the Roadtrains safely off the road,so these big loads can pass by.
The first leg of their journey sees them get to the top of the Chichester Range where they park up for the day, waiting for another night time move.

Thialf, our largest deepwater construction vessel (DCV), is capable of a tandem lift of 14,200 t (15,600 short tons). Its two cranes provide for a depth reach lowering capability as well as a heavy lift capacity to install topsides. This multi-functional dynamic positioned DCV is customized for the installation of foundations, moorings, SPARs, TLPs, and integrated topsides, as well as pipelines and flowlines.
