A Heavenly Morning - One of the images taken on my recent trip to Dorset. I was lucky enough to have some amazing conditions - especially some wonderful lingering mist on my last morning there. This image is a lesson in always looking around for additional compositions. Its very easy to get distracted by the "main event" and miss an image unfolding just behind you!
In this case I was (of course!) shooting Corfe Castle, and happened to look around and noticed the waves of mist unfolding across Corfe Village. The tower of St Edwards Church was rising just above and casting lovely shadows through the mist, accompanied by whisps of smoke from a few chimneys as the village started to wake.
Its quite a gentle image - which I like, and the more you look at it, the more you see through the mist and notice all the details of the village!
You can see here the Biewerbachtalbrücke near Trier. After a few storms recently, accompanied by a lot of rain, the sky cleared up at night and the temperatures went down, so it came in the morning to a beautiful sunrise in icy landscape.
Majestic mountains rise into the sky, their snow-covered peaks shrouded in dense clouds. The rugged rock formations contrast with the soft blue of the sky and the fluffy clouds, while the deep green forests in the foreground create a picturesque backdrop. The interplay of light on the mountains enhances the dramatic atmosphere and captures the raw beauty of the alpine landscape.

My backyard has sure looked pretty this afternoon. This was taken shortly after 2:00 PM The colors are straight off of camera - no enhancement was needed.
This chapel is located in the pretty village of Les Praz, just outside Chamonix in the French Alps.
The spires of the Aiguille du Dru can be seen rising majestically in the background.

A mesmerizing river landscape is depicted here with the scattered rocks on its flow in the lap of the Himalaya. The beautiful ambience here was beyond description and can only be enjoyed there by physical presence. The soothing colours of the water and rocks against the brown and green series of mountain in the horizon made a very pleasant composition to cherish long. Pics was taken by the river Ramganga near Corbet National Park, Uttarakhand, India.

Before leaving Keswick behind i decided to move towards Friars Crag as its views across Derwent water are superb.When i got there the sun was beating down on Borrowdale and everything looked so calm.There was a guy taking shots just up and too my left and we were marvelling at the light when almost instantly the clouds descended in the distance blocking out the sun and slowly they started to creep down the slopes and across the lake towards us.Such a beautiful sight and it was topped off when the sun briefly shone through the clouds.I have another one which is quite similar but the sun is more focussed like a shaft of light.
These conditions,ever changing,are the reason i love The lakes so much,aswell as the rugged scenery of course.

Visited Meols beach again this evening with Ray Mcbride, in between torrential downpours we were able to get a few shots in. This boat was lit from the suns rays for just a few fleeting minutes and then the sun was gone.
In California the forests pines tower above the forest floor. As you gaze through them at the vast sky, a massive rampart of granite juts skyward into the clouds above. The vertical sheer wall seemingly defies laws of gravity. A delicate waterfall plummets down the cliff forming waves of water that turn to a delicate mist. As the sunsets each February the light strikes the waterfall from afar and golden light slips into reddish hues turning the waterfall into a flaming spectacle water that dances and flows magically along the sky. You might think this scene impossible but you see it with your own eyes and in that moment all things seem possible. The light fades slowly up the fall and at the last glimmer a cheer goes up from the spectators as if it was some theatrical endeavor the likes that can only graces the stage of Yosemite National Park.

I haven't posted in awhile! Happy MW season everyone! I had saga with my SD card and my puppy recently... simply put... all my images got eaten except for this and 2 others... I did have this one MW shot copied over to my hard drive....gratefully.... but sat on it and didn't process it or want to post it right away because my buddy had posted a similar shot right after we got back from the Desert. I particularly liked this one because I also managed to capture that shooting star middle upper right.... I honestly forget what that bright star was straight ahead ( I since learned its Mars) :P This was taken around 4am when the clouds and light pollution were closing in... but ...anyways, this was my latest MW visitation. Happy 4th everyone!

Taken from a bluff, I felt like I was floating in the sky, light as the wispy clouds. I will never forget this moment as one of the most tranquil I have ever experience, almost surreal.
