Lake Elsinore, originally named Laguna Grande by the Spanish explorers, renamed for the town Lake Elsinore, California established on its northeastern shore April 9, 1888. Lake Elsinore is the largest natural freshwater lake in Southern California and is situated at the lowest point within the San Jacinto River watershed of 750 square miles (1,900 km2) at the terminus of the San Jacinto River.
Lake levels are healthy at 1,244 feet (379 m) (above sea level) with a volume of 30,000 acre·ft (37,000,000 m3) that often fluctuate, although much has been done recently to prevent the lake from drying up, flooding, or becoming stagnant.
At 1,255 feet (383 m), the lake will spill into the outflow channel on its northeastern shore, known properly as Temescal Wash, flowing northwest through Temescal Canyon feeding Aberhill Creek which joins Temescal Creek, which in turn dumps into the Santa Ana River just northwest of Corona. Lake Elsinore is the largest sag pond in the Elsinore Fault Zone.

After Miss Adler left Livtown, we needed a new doctor. Dr. Zara Lewis arrived to help the models keep fit and healthy at the Agency, and of course all the dwellers of Livtown. Miss Zara needed an assistant too, so Honey, the mayor, employed Pete as her assistant. But isn't this interesting that Zara and Pete's girlfriend Shelley are cousins? ;))

Bedroom/Slaapkamer/Chambre à coucher
Until the 17th century, it was not unusual for the bed to be located in the living room. A bed in a separate bedroom, as here, was a sign of wealth. The four-poster bed is rather short because it was considered healthier at the time to sleep half-erect. The bed curtains were closed at night to protect the sleepers from the cold. The baroque chimney is an original remnant of Rubens's house.

I just recently got back into eating ramen, but not in the straight-up-soup kind of way that weened me onto it in the first place. This is Indomie Mi Goreng Pedas and it's the best tasting ramen I've ever had. To each their own, but I'm quite sure this ramen is not healthy at all.
So I added vegetables! ;)
INGREDIENTS
--------------------------------
1/4 pkg. frozen vegetables of your choice.
1 hard boiled egg (peeled)
1 pkg. of your favorite ramen
Seems pretty basic? Well it is. Dressing up ramen any further than this and you might as well buy some proper canton noodles and make your own sauce.
DIRECTIONS
--------------------------------
Start by boiling some water (enough for the noodles to float) in a saucepan. Once the water starts to simmer, put the noodles in. When it hits a full boil, throw in your frozen vegetables.
The water will immediately stop boiling so don't freak out. When it starts boiling again your noodles and vegetables are good to go. Strain them in a colander.
You should have your egg ready and if you haven't sliced it, do so now. Put the noodles in with the seasoning in the bowl and mix thoroughly.
Add the egg and any garnish the ramen comes with. Eat!
GOING FURTHER
--------------------------------
Pretty easy, but my friend was asking what would be good to put into ramen. This is just one way to make ramen more of a meal and less of a soul-crushing snack.
Of course you can do all sorts of things. I like to cut up mozzarella into my ramen and it starts to get stringy and matches nicely with the texture of the noodles.
Also, feel free to use fresh vegetables, they will be much better, but this recipe was made in an attempt to keep with the quick-n-dirty ramen attitude that makes it an attractive alternative in the first place. The frozen vegetables, hard-boiled eggs and ramen pkg. can all be on hand with not much preparation at all.
TOTAL COST
--------------------------------
~$0.95

This was strutting around our garden all day and each day the other week. It was guzzling as much as it could any food that we put out for the birds until in the end we only put mealy worms on a plate and scattered on our lawn in order to feed the starling fledglings. I was intrigued as to what was protruding from its chest, so put it on my Facebook page. My niece who is a Veterinary Nurse in her dad's Vet Practice replied like this, "I recently learned that wood pigeons are notoriously greedy birds and will often fill their crops till near bursting point. If they do so and then fly into a window (or similar) this will often rupture these storage sacks. This is maybe what has happened here? (looks like grain protruding from feathers?). Best to get him him to us if possible (although he looks very well and healthy at present and that is probably a huge ask!). If you do manage to catch him, could you ask for me though, as I recently attended some wildlife CPD and it is apparently quite an easy procedure to fix this injury but unfortunately not everyone may be aware of this,"
Sadly we haven't seen it since.

Phone: (512) 471-1201
Fax: (512) 471-7833 .Email: dos75@uts.cc.utexas.edu
Dr. Maderline Hsu’s interview in English
Trieu Giang: We have heard that Center for Asian American Studies at UT will offer a
"Vietnamese American Heritage & History" course in this spring semester.
This is very happy news for Vietnamese American students as well as the
Vietnamese American community. Can you tell us the reason why CAAS has made
this move?
Dr. Madeline Hsu: CAAS has wanted to offer this course for a long time to help students and the UT community better understand the important history and sociopolitical dynamics of
the trajectory of Vietnamese Americans. This course explores the meaning and
consequences of American wars overseas and highlights the nature of the
relationship between the U.S. and its Asian allies and Asian peoples as well as
exploring how refugee experiences shape lives in the U.S. We wanted also to
offer this class to serve the many Vietnamese American students on campus and
to complement our other ethnic specific course offerings in South Asian
Diasporic Literature, South Asian Activism, and Filipino and Chinese American
history.
Trieu Giang: Will this course be a credited course and if so, will it strictly be an
elective or is it a mandatory course for certain minors or majors.
Students can take this course for credit and it can be counted toward the AAS
major and minor.
Dr. Madeline Hsu: What is the student enrollment response for the class so far?
As anticipated, enrollment is healthy at about 35 students so far.
Trieu Giang: What graduated student can do with their AAS’s degree?
Dr. Madeline Hsu: They can work for a marketing or a public service company such as the Red Cross or many other companies that need an expert on Asian American community. They also can go to law shools or persue higher education for a Master degree in social studies.
Trieu Giang: Beside this course, is CAAS offering any Vietnamese Language courses?
A former director of CAAS, Rowena Fong, pushed for Vietnamese language courses
to be offered through the Department of Asian Studies.
Trieu Giang: Does CAAS have any plans for expansion of offering "Vietnamese American Studies" as a minor?
Dr. Madeline Hsu: At present we do not have such plans. As far as I know, no AAS program in theUS has such a major.
Trieu Giang: We have heard that CAAS will have some collaboration with The Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation on this subject. Can you tell us a little bit
about it?
Dr. Madeline Hsu: We are hoping to work with VAHF to preserve local Asian American history through collaborative efforts. One project is to have students collect oral histories. We are also hoping to develop a community service learning course to have
students learn more about the local Asian American community and organizations
through internships.
Trieu Giang: Do you have any messages for Vietnamese American students as well as the
Vietnamese community on this subject?
We are continuing to try to recruit faculty with expertise on Southeast Asian
Americans and Southeast Asia. Our program is still in the process of
developing and growing and support from students and community members is still
invaluable as we struggle to gain attention and resources. We hope in the next
five years to have an expanded range of courses and programming to better
address the interests and concerns of all Asian American groups on campus and
in Austin.
Trieu Giang: what can an individual who would like to support CAAS of gaining attention and resorce can do in partically?
Dr. Madeline Hsu: You can write or contact with the Dean office with UT’s officials who are in charge of scheduling to address your concerns and support to the work of CAAS
Trieu Giang: Thank you so much for granting me this interview. Best whishes to your plan.

Announcing my 2nd precious Grandbaby to be born in February 2008- Makayla Eve Nava! :) Isn't she so beautiful? The top picture is a picture of her precious long foot- LOL- Just like her older brother- Little Angel Baby Gabriel Eric Nava (18 Nov 2006- 12 Jan 2007 age: 56 days)- He had such long precious feet! :)
The second picture is her precious face but you have to turn the picture sideways to see it good. She was moving about alot so it was hard to get a clear picture but doctors say she is healthy, at a good weight and height and doing well- PRAISE GOD! I can't wait to see, meet and hold her!!
As Gabriel's 1st birthday approaches, and my heart aches for him, we will be celebrating his birthday party on his birthday 18 Nov 2007 at 2:00 P.M. and we will all be giving money for his birthday presents to donate to CHERUBS (a wonderful organization that supports children born with CDH, their families & friends & promotes awareness to families, friends, the Public & to the medical field about CDH, in hopes to prevent what happened to our Gabriel and other precious children out there and maybe even save some precious children's lives by making them aware to look for CDH so children can be saved from it better. Gabriel fought so hard for his life and to honor him this way in his memory will be a yearly thing for us to do for him as we try to carry on his fight for life and hopefully prevent this from happening to another precious child! As we still mourn and ache for our little Angel baby Gabriel, we also celebrate the new life going to be born in our family soon- our beloved Makayla.

In announcing Jennings' death to his ABC colleagues, News President David Westin wrote:
"For four decades, Peter has been our colleague, our friend, and our leader in so many ways. None of us will be the same without him.
"As you all know, Peter learned only this spring that the health problem he'd been struggling with was lung cancer. With Kayce, he moved straight into an aggressive chemotherapy treatment. He knew that it was an uphill struggle. But he faced it with realism, courage, and a firm hope that he would be one of the fortunate ones. In the end, he was not.
"We will have many opportunities in the coming hours and days to remember Peter for all that he meant to us all. It cannot be overstated or captured in words alone. But for the moment, the finest tribute we can give is to continue to do the work he loved so much and inspired us to do."
Reported World-Shaping Events
As one of America's most distinguished journalists, Jennings reported many of the pivotal events that have shaped our world. He was in Berlin in the 1960s when the Berlin Wall was going up, and there in the '90s when it came down. He covered the civil rights movement in the southern United States during the 1960s, and the struggle for equality in South Africa during the 1970s and '80s. He was there when the Voting Rights Act was signed in 1965, and on the other side of the world when South Africans voted for the first time. He has worked in every European nation that once was behind the Iron Curtain. He was there when the independent political movement Solidarity was born in a Polish shipyard, and again when Poland's communist leaders were forced from power. And he was in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Romania and throughout the Soviet Union to record first the repression of communism and then its demise. He was one of the first reporters to go to Vietnam in the 1960s, and went back to the killing fields of Cambodia in the 1980s to remind Americans that, unless they did something, the terror would return.
On Dec. 31, 1999, Jennings anchored ABC's Peabody-award winning coverage of Millennium Eve, "ABC 2000." Some 175 million Americans watched the telecast, making it the biggest live global television event ever. "The day belonged to ABC News," wrote The Washington Post, "&with Peter Jennings doing a nearly superhuman job of anchoring." Jennings was the only anchor to appear live for 25 consecutive hours.
Jennings also led ABC's coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks and America's subsequent war on terrorism. He anchored more than 60 hours that week during the network's longest continuous period of news coverage, and was widely praised for providing a reassuring voice during the time of crisis. TV Guide called him "the center of gravity," while the Washington Post wrote, "Jennings, in his shirt sleeves, did a Herculean job of coverage." The coverage earned ABC News Peabody and duPont awards.
Overseas, and at Home
Jennings joined ABC News on Aug. 3, 1964. He served as the anchor of "Peter Jennings with the News" from 1965 to 1967.
He established the first American television news bureau in the Arab world in 1968 when he served as ABC News' bureau chief for Beirut, Lebanon, a position he held for seven years. He helped put ABC News on the map in 1972 with his coverage of the Summer Olympics in Munich, when Arab terrorists took Israeli athletes hostage.
In 1975, Jennings moved to Washington to become the news anchor of ABC's morning program "A.M. America". After a short stint in the mornings, Jennings returned overseas to Rome where he stayed before moving to London to become ABC's Chief Foreign Correspondent. In 1978 he was named the foreign desk anchor for "World News Tonight." He co-anchored the program with Frank Reynolds in Washington, D.C., and Max Robinson in Chicago until 1983.
Jennings was named anchor and senior editor of "World News Tonight" in 1983. In his more than 20 years in the position he was honored with almost every major award given to television journalists.
His extensive domestic and overseas reporting experience was evident in "World News Tonight's" coverage of major crises. He reported from all 50 states and locations around the globe. During the 1991 Gulf War and the 2003 War in Iraq, his knowledge of Middle Eastern affairs brought invaluable perspective to ABC News war in Iraq and the drug trade in Central and South America. The series also tackled important domestic issues such as gun control policy, the politics of abortion, the crisis in funding for the arts and a highly praised chronicle of the accused bombers of Oklahoma City. "Peter Jennings Reporting" earned numerous awards, including the 2004 Edward R. Morrow award for best documentary for "The Kennedy Assassination — Beyond Conspiracy."
Jennings also had a particular interest in broadcasting for the next generation. He did numerous live news specials for children on subjects ranging from growing up in the age of AIDS, to prejudice and its effects on our society. After the events of September 11, and again on the anniversary, he anchored a town hall meeting for children and parents entitled, "Answering Children's Questions."
Jennings was honored with many awards for news reporting, including 16 Emmys, two George Foster Peabody Awards, several Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards and several Overseas Press Club Awards. Most recently, "World News Tonight" was recognized with two consecutive Edward R. Murrow awards for best newscast, based on field reporting done by Jennings on the California wildfires and the transfer of power in Iraq.
Jennings was the author, with Todd Brewster, of the acclaimed New York Times bestseller, "The Century." It featured first-person accounts of the great events of the century. In 1999, he anchored the 12-hour ABC series, "The Century," and ABC's series for The History Channel, "America's Time." He and Brewster also published "In Search of America," a companion book for the 6-part ABC News series.
A difference between parts of the same plant. The main plant, in the background, looked healthy at the time of this testing. A secondary basal shoot, at front, had ringspot & mosaic patterns. Both tested positive for TSWV. By mid-August the main plant developed markings as well, and when retested (R3 #23) had both TSWV and INSV.

Copper accumulates at abnormally low levels in the liver and brain, but at higher than normal levels in the kidney and intestinal lining. Affected infants may be born prematurely, but appear healthy at birth and develop normally for 6 to 8 weeks. Then symptoms begin, including floppy muscle tone, seizures, and failure to thrive. Menkes disease is also characterized by subnormal body temperature and strikingly peculiar hair, which is kinky, colorless or steel-colored, and breaks easily. There is often extensive neurodegeneration in the gray matter of the brain. Arteries in the brain may also be twisted with frayed and split inner walls. This can lead to rupture or blockage of the arteries. Weakened bones (osteoporosis) may result in fractures.
Biscuits and gravy, with a side of hashbrowns, and a cup of coffee (I know, not very healthy) at the Gold Miners' Cafe in Folsom. Coworkers bet me I couldn't find the dish in Folsom. The waitress told me this is one of their most popular dishes. Also, this is a HALF order. The full one must be big. My review was published in the Folsom Telegraph here: www.folsomtelegraph.com/detail/99854.html

Paige is a beautiful and happy 4 year old who was born healthy. At 10 months she suffered a viral infection and never fully recovered. She lives with global developmental delays, chorea, and seizures (luckily, we have reached 1 year seizure free in December). She has lesions in her basal ganglia but after 3 years of 100s of tests there is still no diagnosis. She is fortunate to have a loving 2 year old brother who is always looking out for her.
