The duel was bloodless; the only thing which was spilled may have been beer. The occasion was sad one, as one of the Toronto icons of Traditional Jazz, Christopher Daniels died in early January. Singer and bass player, Chris started Climax Jazz Band in 1971 and it was going strong for the last 50 years. Chris missed only one gig, on Sunday January 1, 2023. He died healthy at 84 in his bed. Cause undetermined. 50 plus musicians came to play and celebrate life well lived and another 150 music lovers came to pay respect to exceptional friend and human being. Gram Whitty was on the bass at this moment and Jacob Gorzhaltsan with the clarinet.

Dear Friends,
A long time ago, but the home improvement is now as good as done. Hopefully you have all stayed healthy? At least now time to look at your beautiful photos and finally start shooting again soon.
Thank you in advance for your interest and comments on my photos. That is much appreciated.
To all my flickr-friends, I wish you the best in this Holidays. May there be days of reason, light, peace, hope, science and understanding, and mostly, health for everyone.
Thank you very much for all of your support and for all of your wonderful images and inspiration.
Please, stay safe and healthy at home.
"I wish you a hopeful Christmas
I wish you a brave new year
All anguish, pain and sadness
Leave your heart and let your road be clear
They said there'll be snow at Christmas
They said there'll be peace on earth
Hallelujah, Noel be it heaven or hell
The Christmas we get we deserve"

This weekend I took a deep dive into my heart.
I had a vision.
In all my life I have been giving love to everyone around me.
Such a behavior is not healthy, at least not when you are not aware of that you actually are empty.
Due to circumstances in my life I have not had my share of love.
What I had in childhood I seeked in adult life.
In my vision my heart it was all dry inside, dry grass, no flowers, all brown, dry and yellow. It had not received water or nourish at all.
But I have been able to give love, no problems. I love giving love.
We are like that, aren't we.
Standing in this dry jungle a Lion came.
The words spoken was "She needs me!"
Of course I needed a Lion, the greatest King of them all, one who could boost my fighting will, letting me be the King of my Viking country again, taking the love that was truthfully mine to have.
In my vision the Lion could be me, helping myself in the way I have helped myself, walking on this path of mine, dealing with all my shit, sorting out what's mine and what is not mine.
And she probably was the one in the vision.
But I did get another help too.
A Lion has appeared in my life, showing itself in real life.
Being supportive, caring, patient and loving and that at my most vulnerable time in my life.
Helping me through my difficult time.
How cool isn't that.
When you open up and are in a flow the help can come from places you never would have imagined.
This Lion has now actually done its job, I cannot lean myself upon others. It's my life, I am in charge and that is the healthy way to live a life.
The Lioness has now taken the steering wheel and drives herself, very grateful for the help given.
The love given, which I'm receiving, that is on another level. We are equal on that level.
I say thank you to love.
The greatest gift of them all.
This was one of the parents of the little grey fantail in the previous post. It was glad of a quick rest between the continuous feeding sessions!
Taken on the shore of Lake McIntyre near Millicent in South Australia. Like much of southeastern Australia, the local plant life is very green and healthy at the moment.

plants are growing with various degrees of success. if i don't cause root rot by too much watering the slugs, snails and white fly finish the job! i'm not defeated :)
i've replaced three lavenders, one fern and a couple of other plants. more plants were on the edge of obliteration but have survived, thank goodness!
one of my big upsets was an evergreen clematis named 'avalanche' bought from b & q www.primrose.co.uk/50-90cm-clematis-cartmanii-avalanche-3... and planted next to the back arch. the flowers were absolutely stunning, but once they had finished for a long time nothing happened. i was despondent. i thought i'm messing everything up :( i stopped the watering and waited, waited, waited ... suddenly one day i spotted what looked like a miniscule shoot. it was! i now have five healthy shoots coming off from the leaders :)
i've planted a yellow berried pyracantha to cover the back fence and another for the side fence at the back on the right. it will take some time but they're both healthy, at the moment
rocks, stones, broken crockery and canes surrounding the plants to help prevent pet damage - works to a certain extent :)
i still have a couple of problem shrubs but i've stopped worrying. what will be will be :)

Aretha Franklin, 18 times GRAMMY winner, leaves no doubt with her performances why she was at the top of her profession. A legendary vocalist with career is spanning almost 60 years, died at 76 in 2018. She started her secular career at 18 and was touring until 2017. She did not look healthy at this concert from 2011. Overweight; just coming back from one of her frequent breaks, because of health issues, but her voice was still top notch. It did not matter what she was singing: Souls, R&B, Blues, rock, pop and of course gospel, she earned 'Respect'. This photo was taken during her 50 minutes encore after her regular concert. Opening night of Toronto Jazz Festival; Free tickets for first 15000 people; Of course; mayhem.
She was my favourite, fave of the black couple in the 'White House' and many citizens of the world regardless race or colour.

Araucaria columnaris, the coral reef araucaria is a conifer that is also called the Cook pine (or Cook's pine) and the New Caledonia pine depending where in the world you are.
This one is in Independence Park on Tower Road, Sleima, Malta on the shore of St Julian’s Bay. They are not native to Europe and this is one of two in the park. The other is not healthy at all and appears to be struggling to survive.
I have been photographing this little house since 2007. The house was covered in Kudzu vines and the tree was full and healthy. At some point through the years the landowner attempted to kill the Kudzu vines but the plant is tough stuff and survived. It doesn't show up much in this winter shot since it loses it's leaves in winter, but it's coming back slowly towards the house. Also at some point the tree was struck by lightning and has split, part of it falling next to the house..
Saturday Self Challenge
This week let's:
"Fill the Frame"
Choose any subject you like just be sure to "fill the frame" with it.
It’s that time of year again, the shops are filled with these lovely red plants. Every year I buy one, bring it home, take its photo, then watch it die ! I’ve only had it a week and the leaves are falling off already, the same happens every year, I just can’t keep them alive. In the window of a house further along the road, theirs is still looking healthy at Easter. Maybe I should knock on their door and find out what I’m doing wrong.
Anyway, here it is filling the frame for this weeks challenge. Enjoy it whilst it’s still looking so good.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
Bear is 6 months on from an operation that removed a malignant lump the size of a grapefruit with his spleen , he’s 9 now but I’m told the prognosis is not good , but he seems healthy at the moment.
The State of the UK's Birds 2020 has just been published and there are some worrying statistics. It says that the species hit by the largest numerical decline (as opposed to percentage) is House Sparrow. The populations sounds very healthy at 5.3 million pairs but since 1966 the population has dropped by 10.7 million pairs. To put that another way, when I was growing up there were 16 million pairs of House Sparrows in the UK, now there are only 5.3 million.
The report estimates the total population of native breeding birds in the UK is 83 million pairs, which is 19 million fewer than in the late 1960s. But some species have increased over that period, including the wren which is up by 6.5 million pairs to a current population of 11 million pairs making it the UK's commonest breeding bird.

I want to say here that I am worried and fearful for us ALL! I am afraid that some of us will fall to this foe, and I dream that nightmare and I will do everything I am to help that not happen! If something happens to me, I will have Ken post. It is a very Flickr fear- not knowing what happened to true friends- no less true for being virtual. We are both healthy at this time.
I am going to post from my archives of Mardi Gras shots soon! Times already gone by and nothing left to be regretted about that. Beautiful pageantry, happy happy times. No telling when crowds like that will happen again- Mardi Gras, Super Bowl, New Years' Eve in Times Square, etc. . . . This is HISTORY!
We are being super paranoid and careful, and we are being afraid- for us, our family, our friends-hoping that you all are safe and healthy!! So no alarm! Just me, thinking in the middle of the night, you know?
We wish you ALL the very best and hope that our world is changed forever on the other side of this pandemic, from learning HOW important friends and family are.
I rarely capture any butterfly shot, but for some reason, this one came right up and sat on the edge of the table! I will take that as a very hopeful sign!

I just planted some of these Cone Flower and some Red with yellow Daisy in the garden yesterday. I was researching online about these flower and how to care for them and came out and discovered this Butterfly. I say all my hard work just then became worthwhile. Although they are not looking very healthy at the moment, I believe in time they will look better. I will post some of the other photos of Daisy, Mums etc, so get ready for some flower shots to come :-)

This is Kweli with two of her three cubs that are now just over 4 months. Kweli had her first litter early during mid 2020 when she was barely two years old. At the time she was seen with two small cubs, but sadly both were lost. In June last year she had another litter. Reports confirm that she had five cubs but one, possibly more, were killed by a buffalo. By the beginning of July she only had one and, soon after, that one was lost as well in circumstance unknown. There were originally four in this litter and I’m not sure what happened to the other, but the three we observed looked fit and healthy. At present, Kweli is proving to be a good mum in providing food and keeping the cubs safe, and hopefully by the law of averages these three may make it to adulthood.
Kweli was born mid 2018 to mother Amani (her fourth successful litter). She dispersed in October 2019 with her sister Kulete and brother Jasari. We were fortunate in seeing them that day so it was good to see her again with cubs of her own. Her sister Kulete also has two cubs that I believe were born at about the same time.
This won't have any weird lyrics for my post tonight. I wanted to talk about something that truly bothers me;
The absolute need and desire to destroy someone's home, their art, their property, and their place of sanctuary.
I don't understand the desire or need to do something like this to people. Roleplay sims have always been able to coexist for the most part. They're meant to. Not everyone wants to be at the same place, different visions or ideas, etc. But to have a desire to harm someone in vicious ways, for nothing but the act of revenge or an ire towards that other person? It's not healthy at all. We all have moments where we feel like we want to do something when someone does something to us we feel is wrong. But to actually act on them is a different story.
I'm guilty of having these feelings from time to time. Of growing angry with how bad I may think a person be, out of an emotional response, and then hope for something bad to happen to them. It's a bad feeling to have.
Using places like SL Secrets to float around and spew hatred about players in cowardice. Various other ways.
We need to focus on what we love, where we love, and ignore what we don't Going out of your way to try and harm someone else or their home, their art, their love? That is wrong. Spend time enjoying the people around you, and stop spending it to harm, make fun of, bully, or destroy someone else.
I will always be 100% against bullying.
Morgane was born in June 2010. She was healthy at first, after 8 weeks we noticed that there is something not ok, after another 10 weeks of test and waiting the docs told us that she has Canavan desease. There is no cure we've been told that she only has 4 years.Canavan disease is also one of the most common degenerative cerebreal diseases of infancy. This disease is one of a group of genetic disorders called leukodystrophies. But we do not give up.
Good Morning panda loving friends. Happy Sunday! Habby FunBei!
I got my workout yesterday chasing 2 kitties who did not want to be caught! The good news is they had a great visit with the nicest veterinarian in the world, and both are healthy. At age 14, they are 72 years in hooman years.
Have a panderific day everyone, be safe.
So apparently the bee population amongst the lilies at Fogg Dam is very healthy at the moment! I couldn't get a photograph of this Lotus Lily without a bee in it! So I reckon three is better than one?!
An oldie, but after Covid and rebound, I remain very very busy and will call my buddies in the next couple weeks. Healthy at the moment

Pictured here, healthy, at 9 days old. recommendations?
Update: This boy spent all day yesterday struggling to stay alive, moaning. I was able to rehydrate him every two hours, giving him little bursts of showing vital signs, but he wasn't able to make it through the night and died peacefully, with his mouth in a cute little smile and paws crossed.

Hey guys!! How are you doing?
I'm really happy that so many people are satisfied with the new bodyline.
I also grateful for your advice on what needs to be supplemented.
So, I'd like to briefly explain the Next Body options that will be updated in the near future.
1. Belleza / Maitreya - Boobies Omega Applier hud
2. Legacy - boobie applicator hud
The boobie applier hud has 4 options
(basic boob / w no nipple / boob w fr / boob w fr + no nipple )
I'm thinking about the design of the simple and easy looked hud,no look complicated.
I'll make it. . . .I wish. . . lol
3. Slink - Physique, Hourglass body applier hud + BOM with Boob hud
4. Neck shade will be added more naturally and Omega hud
5. Top 3 Skin Tones Updated to New Body
104,110 and I am thinking between 102 tons and 100 tons..
6. More details in Foot
7. Body and Face Hud's More Developed Design
(Some of them haven't been worked on yet, but they're struggling to finish the update quickly!)
These are the details of the following body updates
There will be constant body updates in the future, and you will be able to meet new products with Redelivery without having to buy each of them.
I'm busy with BOM updates and body updates at the same time as building work. > -<
I'd like to inform you and discuss it with you whenever I have time.
Although the world is not very gloomy and pleasant, I hope that you look up to the sky often and stay healthy at home.
Take care of yourself, as always!

Catching up with 2018...while there is time...but that is all we have.
The story is jumbled...sorry.
Enough of the poor me story. This is an afterthought photo that I decided was worth posting. As the story went...I took the 100-400mm, this time with the tripod to photograph the Purple Martins...the only problem...they were not there. The Sun was setting fast...disappointed the Purple Martins were elsewhere...I looked around...and this is what I saw. The Willow in the photo is a ghost of it's former self...for years the tree was healthy...at least 4 ft in dia...then it rotted...a shell remains.

Old-growth forest are just that, old, decaying and not very healthy at that. They are actually a wild mess of vegetation and decaying matter yearning for a spot in the sun. And there is almost none down here. Which makes photography a challenge.

I got some good news! All five falcon fledglings hatched last weekend and they seem to be healthy. At least compared to the bird that serves as their breakfast.
Yet another business suit. As you can see I am bubbling over with enthusiasm here not just because I have a nice smart suit on but because I was out soaking up the ambiance of just being a girl who's fit and healthy at my age and having lunch with a friend . (Who is behind the camera)

Marginal Way, Ogunquit Maine.
Well, the sunrise was not exactly what I hoped for. I kept falling into water trying to compose shots and having only sneakers on - can't really say I was prepared for the shoot like this. As the tide was receding towards the sun, more and more rocks became exposed so naturally I went in deeper and deeper into water.
Sometimes I feel bad for my tripod because these salt baths are not exactly healthy! At the end I loved the water movement of the waves, soft glowy light and chill or trance music in my iPod that accompanied this shoot.
Taken in my backyard before the heatwave weather arrived - poor pot plant doesn't look this healthy at the moment!!
Taken with my Canon 70-200 f4L IS lens - the background has been thrown out of focus, allowing for some nice bokeh.
I had to use a higher ISO and shutter speed to compensate for the wind that was blowing the plant at time of capture.
Hope you like the change from my usual seascapes, but don't worry - I'll be posting more soon!! :-)
Have a great day and week - thanks as usual for any comment, view or favorite - much appreciated!!
Experts call it “the greatest mammoth find ever,” and it’s at Victoria’s Royal BC Museum. The RBCM unveiled a 40,000-year-old baby woolly mammoth in remarkable condition as part of its Giants of the Ice Age exhibit that opened June 3. Museum CEO Jack Lohman said it’s Canada’s first opportunity to see the ancient, majestic creature, dubbed Lyuba, after it was discovered in the Siberian Arctic in 2007. “This is the best preserved baby mammoth ever found. We’re hugely excited to have brought it from Russia to show the public here,” Lohman said. “In a way, it brings us a step closer to understanding the disappearance of the mammoth, and it allows us to time travel to the great ice age.” The female mammoth was only 30 days old, 110 pounds and just over one-metre-long when she suffocated after becoming trapped in mud along the banks of a river, according to scientists. Her body was preserved by lactic acid-producing bacteria, a microbial process that “pickled” her soft tissues. Soft tissue sample and an analysis of her tusks suggest she was healthy at the time. “She has her complete skin. You can see her eyelashes very, very clearly. She’s got hair. And the whole contents of her gut exist and have been examined,” Lohman said. He called it one of the most important exhibitions the museum has every hosted. Lyuba is on loan from the Shemanovskiy Yamal-Nenets District Museum in northern Siberia, Russia.
I must tell you a little about the Montréal neighborhood where I met Mohamad, La Petite-Patrie. At a time when the recent evolution of neighborhoods names in Montreal, as in many cities, follows much too closely the interests of developers, the name of this neighborhood is a lovely exception. It takes its name from the title of a novel by Claude Jasmin published in 1972. The author evokes in this book the tender memories of his youth in this Montreal neighborhood in the 1940s. La Petite-Patrie, that literally translate as "The Small Country" is also the area where we lived, my wife and I, some thirty years ago at the birth of our son.
If the surrounding residential streets are relatively unchanged, Rosemont Boulevard around the Métro station is now very different. At the time, south of this boulevard, there were aging municipal workshops extending to the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Virtually all the complex was razed and replaced with condos. To the east of the Rosemont Métro station, whose entrance building is currently under renovation, you may now find the beautiful new Marc-Favreau public library.
I was in the vicinity Wednesday night. Time was passing and I was looking for a place to eat healthily at a reasonable price before going underground to go home via the Métro. I noticed in front of the library a small restaurant named Pita gourmet offering Mediterranean cuisine. Mohamad was behind the restaurant counter. With Pita Gourmet’s proximity to the subway, he must serve as many takeaway dishes as meals for customers who eat at a table. The restaurant offers a mix of grills and mezze of Lebanese inspiration but also of Turkish, Greek and other Mediterranean origins.
I ordered a plate with three mezze accompanied with baba ghanouj and hummus. Fortunately I was hungry, it was very generous. While Mohamad served me, we conversed a little. I learned he had opened the restaurant with a cousin also named Mohamad just four months ago. As he spoke good French, I thought he was born in Montreal or had arrived here young. This was not the case. He has been in the country for only 3 or 4 years. He first learned French in Lebanon, where he was born, and later lived 6 years in France before crossing the Atlantic.
Mohamad told me that he expected that the first year of the restaurant to be difficult but showed a quiet confidence in its future.
After I finished my meal, as rush hour had passed, I allowed myself to tell him about my project. He spontaneously accepted to be photographed. I did not want to shoot him behind the counter. I was thinking he could perhaps stand in front of it. Mohamad took the time to remove his cap and instead proposed that we go to a quiet corner of the dining room. It was a good suggestion since the front window offered me a dark background against which the portrait emerges better. Here is the resulting photo.
The next morning, I learned that my daughter, who lives south of the tracks, had also been to Pita Gourmet.
I’d like to wish perseverance and success to Mohamad and Mohamad. Their restaurant is located at 531 Boulevard Rosemont, Montréal.
