The head light of a vintage vehicle used to capture the reflection of other vehicles and the stables at chatsworth house is maintained in colour whilst the remaining image is coloured in an antique chocolate brown effect
Headlamp beetle Carabidae c 40mm long, Lake Manyara Serena.
This is a large predatory beetle that prowls at night. The bold white spots on thorax may help conspecifics recognize it, or perhaps warn enemies that it can bite or tastes bad.
oh, handheld selfies during a power outage are such flattering things to behold. ~grin~.........
this is mostly for my DD who has been worried about how we are doing during sandy, the hurricane. after 3 days of preparations, the most severe effect here at our house was an 9 hour power outage. since it isn't wickedly cold, the house even held a comfortable temp.
*one can only hope that the people who experienced sandy more closely are faring well and are not deeply impacted! sending y'all good thoughts and best wishes for us all to get back to normal.

Classic cars at local DQ this evening. Man, some were sweeeeeet. Too close together to get many full shots that were good.
I went for a solo Dawn Patrol up to Granite Mountain today. For kicks just above where the water emerges from the rock, I cut up the avalanche gully (at 1700 feet above the parking lot). Wow 2000 vertical feet of straight up to the top of the ridge line. One steep sucker.
This was somewhere up the chute in the fog as I keep heading up and up.
I think it was a lexus - some kind of wack bus for "sophisticated adults" with silk and leather seats. Luscious, but kind of ridiculous.

With a hidden lever underneath to raise and lower its headlamps its clear MSZ like a bit of novelty to differentiate themselves from more established makers of budget orientated licensed 1/64 diecasts. They also give their models working suspensions as well as deliberately screwing on their baseplates to make it easier for wheel customisers. A fresh approach which is winning them new collectors and despite MSZ Cool Chic Auto 1/64 models not being readily available here in the UK at the moment, though I believe B&M Bargains will be selling singles soon to go with some three vehicle sets, they are easy and cheap to source directly from China.
This Toyota AE86 is a brand new casting which is immediately available in two super stock looking colours and both have an air of Tomica about them. Lots of nice detailing particularly at the front and rear.
Mint and boxed.
