My nephew (along with the rest of his family) got headlamps from my parents for Christmas. He was so fascinated by the light emanating from his forehead and walked around the whole day shining it in everyone's eyes.

Traveling in the coastal areas of Southeast Alaska requires timing. After getting dropped off at Oliver's Inlet for an 11 day portage, it became immediately apparent that any attempts at progress would be impossible without proper tides. After waiting on the beach for a few hours, we made a second attempt at slack tide. Though the tides were in our favor, the light was not.
Picture taken around 11-12pm, boating by the assistance of headlamp. Sounds like fun...unless you are in an 8ft Zodiac with a puny 2hp motor, ever-vigilant for sticks and other obstacles.
A super lens flare as the result of accidentally turning my LED headlamp towards the camera during a 30-second exposure! The effect is interesting none the less!
