Not shown well here, I built up a lip of silicon tape around the plug that goes to the bulb (at top of photo). The rubber boot around the headlamp is actually in two parts- one around the lamp, the other cups the plug. With out cutting the wires, I didn't see a way to remove the rubber boot to fix it to the new plug that comes with the relay kit. So, until a better idea arises, I'm hoping the lip of silicon tape will seal out the moisture and dust.

This bulb is probably more responsible for light pollution in the US today, than any other type.
My first experiment with the headlamp and long exposure... Jon stands with his headlamp on tending the fire.
...note: I did leave the running shoes behind and took only the mountaineering boots, which was a good decision considering the amount of scree and boulder fields that we had to climb and descend.

A nice moonbow appeared over the San Louis Valley this weekend. Leigh and I went up to the hills to soak in the Cottonwood and Joyful Journey hot springs this past weekend. I was fighting (and losing to) a nasty lung virus of some sort, but we still had a nice time and I think all the steam from the hot springs did my lungs some good.
