HDR shot in mom´s garden...

Over the past few weeks I have been experimenting more with some processing steps on my HDR shots. These 4 shots range from 3 to 9 exposures and two different methods for processing. The two architectural using one style, the nature shots using another. Please leave feedback and suggestions.

First HDR shot taken with my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35.

Bought this because of its wider 25mm wide-angle lens, auto-bracket capability, and small size. Should be a good camera to keep with me at all times to get a wider range of shots off than my Canon IXY 910S (still a great camera, but no auto-bracketing) and Pentax K10 (awesome camera but too big to lug around to-from work).

3xp HDR shot taken freehand of the Imperial Palace's moat with the Hibiya business district on the other side.

Tokyo, Japan.

HDR shot for MY my friend KAWASAKI NINJA ZX6R i took 3 different Exposure and merged them in photomatix then some edits in lightroom .

HDR shot rattled off quickly whilst waiting for push back at Liverpool airport. Distortion and reflection from window glass apparent in bottom left and top right, but I don't think it detracts too much from the shot. The sky is the best bit I reckon. Wasted a few moments of the deadtime you spend whilst travelling...

This image shows a view at the locker room at coking plant Hansa at Dortmund. You see the chains, which lock the baskets of the miners and workers.

This HDR shot was processed from 5 different exposures.

This HDR shot was taken in the fast eroding Castner Glacier Cave. The cave was around 300 ft just one month ago, but now it is around 100 ft. By next summer it will be gone.

What a fun place to shoot!...well if the winds aren't quite as strong. It was great fun trying an HDR shot here. Couldn't get the camera steady :) SOOC looks ok for me though.

HDR. Shot from Coronado; looking across San Diego Bay to downtown San Diego. Iconic shot. Many people have this in their collection. The sky was interesting on this night.

5XP HDR shot of Hong Kong island from Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

The weather wasn't very favorable so it was great when the skies cleared and presented an opportunity to capture Hong Kong island from the Victoria Harbor waterfront - one of the best night scenes you'll see anywhere!

Las Dueñas, Salamanca, Spain.

Please... press [L] to fully appreciate it. It's a combination of five HDR shots, each of them composed by three different exposed shots. It was a hand-held shot so, luckily, it was almost well aligned.

****************************

5XP HDR shot of Trump Intl Chicago and Wrigley Building in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

I'm glad the image came out shake/ghost-free~ the rumblings from cars passing along the metal bridge I was on had me concerned! :P

HDR SHOT.. INSIDE WATER TUNNEL

another HDR shot last summer of the ciry Oberhausen. Far away to the left you can see the 3 towers (red, green, blue) of the Landschaftspark Duisburg...

An HDR shot from inside Calke Abbey. A fantastic building that has mostly been untouched over the years. A little eerie for some, but I loved it ;)

HDR shot of the view outside of the hotel in Yokohama, Japan. It was really cool how this long bridge led to some fun island with a huge mall and a Ferris wheel.

This one came out pretty messy, but there's a reason for that. I took it from high up, from my hotel room window. It was freaking cold so there was frost and water on the window. I attempted to get rid of a lot of the random blobs of stuff, but you could still see some left...

5xp HDR shot taken looking down from the 38th to the 37th floor of the Tokyo Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

*Highly* recommended if you're in Tokyo to stop by for at least a drink at the bar or lounge to take in these views!

LARGE View

This is another shot from a couple of weekends ago.

It's part of a long built in bench in a small atrium at OHSU (Oregon Health Sciences University) made up of small tiles. I loved how the lights were reflecting and knew it would make an interesting HDR shot.

I took it at about 2 AM just before I decided to call it a night.

Enjoy!

HDR shot of this American Classic. Loving the Rat Rod look.....

Another HDR shot of Granite Basin Lake from a few weeks ago. I took a few photos of the red glow on Granite mountain, when I turned around and noticed that the sky was turning pink behind me.

A low percentage of HDR has been used here in combining 3 different exposures (through Photomatix) - just enough to keep it the way I saw it

More HDR shots Here

Another attempt at an HDR shot. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to get what I'm seeing in my head to translate to the photo. Something is not right and I can't put my finger on it. Of all my fumbling tonight, this is the best I could come up with.

If anyone has any criticisms, suggestions or tips, please feel free to share them.

Thanks!

HDR shot taken earlier this year @ Southend On Sea

A long exposure/HDR shot of the N Seoul Tower, the communication and observation tower in south Seoul, South Korea. The top of the tower, with the help of the 243m-high Namsan mountain it is sitting on, is at about 480m above sea level. At 236.7m, it one of Seoul’s definite landmarks. The tower was completed in 1971, built as a broadcast tower for TV and radio signals. The observatory was closed to the public until 1980. Originally the YTN Seoul Tower, it was renamed in 2005 to N Seoul Tower after its original owner merged with CJ Corporation (although the official name is CJ Seoul Tower). The "N" stands for 'New', 'Namsan', and 'Nature'. The tower gets illuminated in various colors, but blue is reserved for days when the air quality is good (fine dust concentration below 45micrograms/cubic meter), signaling that it is a good day for going for outdoor activities or simply a walk!
