Beautiful sunset behind the peak Llom del Matxo Flac (around 625m) near Alzira, Valencia.
The difficulty of shots like this is always the area that is in the shadows (in this case the entire right side of the peak). Hitting the right exposure is impossible, so for this picture I used bracketing creating a HDR shot from three images merged in Lightroom.
Photo equipment used in this shot:
Nikon D7200: amzn.to/2pXn3Qd
Nikkor DX 35mm 1.8 G: amzn.to/2qUX3CH

This is another blue hour shot of the St. Gallen Cathedral. I used a deep position to get a more different view to the cathedral.
This HDR shot was processed from 5 different exposures.
This is a pano of the lovely landscape near Hof at sunset. I love this pano because of the warm sunlight from the left and the lovely nature on the hills. The wind turbines are a landmark here at Upper Franconia. ;-)
This pano was stitched from 9 single HDR shots.
J. Pierce Cunningham Cabin
Grand Teton National Park, WY
06-12-24
From the Grand Teton website: The Cunningham Cabin stands as one of the valley’s few remaining structures from the homesteading era when settlers filed nearly 400 claims in Jackson Hole. In the 1880s, John and Margaret Cunningham staked a claim for the Bar Flying U Ranch. Cunningham built his cabin in 1888 in the Appalachian style, commonly called “double-pen” or “dog-trot.” John lived in the cabin until 1895 when he finished his main residence, and it later became a smithy and barn.
The Teton range is really farther away than shown. I did some modification such as if I'd used the telephoto on the range, but wanted the cabin window in focus. Thus I used two layers of the same photo, and enlarged the mountain peaks so they look closer.
I also did some more tweaking, so the "border" around the window is dark and not splashed with color as in a standard HDR shot which removes shadows. I also digitally removed two tourists on the path. I was going to replace them with buffalo but thought that might be going too far. LOL. Also added a blur filter to the clouds only so they didn't look too sharp.
Still, what a view!
Enjoying the beginning of the day from Mas Ventolà in this nice volcanic area of 'La Garrotxa - Olot'.
This is an HDR shot made up of 5 shots taken in autobraking mode (-1.4Ev; -0.7Ev; 0Ev; +0.7Ev; 1.4Ev). A 'Gobe' CPL Polarizer Filter was used. You can read additional technical information in my profile (about section).

I'm beginning to go through my photo folders for the year 2025, in preparation for compiling my "Best of 2025" photo collection and slideshow video. In January I purchased my long yearned for full frame 10-20mm lens for my Canon EOS R5. I took some photos of the Point Fermin Lighthouse on Jan. 18th, and presented one of those photos on social media last January.
Here is one of my "natural frames" shots, taken through the picket fence surrounding the Stick Style Queen Anne Victorian lighthouse. I've also created this image as a "focus stack" combining HDR shots of the lighthouse and the fence itself so everything is in sharp focus.

Honestly i can't make up my mind which one to process but i know i did receive a 'threatening' comment earlier that i BETTER post a NZ shot. Well, that bugger got me really really freaked out that I just farted myself lol! Threat works this time so u got it... processed fresh from the oven just a while ago..this is the second shot I have HDRed out of the NZ trip & vertorama somemore. Something i don't do very often. Have fun as I gotta do a hit & run to bed now... feelin' real tired & not that great. I reckon i'm goin' to be fully sick mate!
Don't have to fave/comment as I'm really very slack with commenting too!

an HDR shot of the much photographed Southwark tube station in London.
this is a slight snapseed rework of a shot recently published on Fotoblur: tube
addendum: just a quick note on the absence of people - this was taken in the middle of the day and there were loads of people around. I two two sets of three bracketed shots and HDR'ed them and then did a method of differences to remove the people. I used a similar method for my rush hour on the M1 shot but in that case I used far more shots. These shots were all hand held.

I decided to do a HDR shot - I don't usually but a couple of the guys from my local photography club nailed it a while ago so I thought I'd see what all of the fuss was about. This is a five shot image layered in Photoshop Elements 14. The information for the bracket is: -2EV. -1EV. 0. +1EV and +2EV. I'm happy with the final image and I do think it slightly improved the single shot.
As for the exact location I cannot divulge. The location is a farm in Wrexham and the farmer very kindly let the group visit his private estate - a very kind man indeed. Bluebells as far as the eye can see - beautiful!
This is an HDR shot of late-autumn Meteora, Greece in order to celebrate this day 1st of December 2023. Four monasteries are in sight from left to right: St. Nicholas Anapafsás's, Roussanou's (aka Santa Barbara's), the Great Meteoron (aka Our Savior's Transfiguration) and Varlaam's (aka All Saints').
Of course, autumn is the season between summer and winter; it is defined as lasting from the September equinox to the winter solstice. The latter occurs on December 22 this year in Greece (at 05:29' hrs local time). So, one has got twenty one more days of autumn ahead prior to the arrival of winter. Let us enjoy the atmospheric colors and mists all around as long as they last!

Another HDR shot for Cliche Saturday. Definitely a dividing issue, HDR, and I can see both sides ~ although I do like the extreme vividness it creates in the colours, even if rather unnatural. I prefer to adopt a more heavy handed approach to HDR, no point try to be subtle, it is what it is!!

I just processed this HDR shot from a trip to Australia. Sometimes, I take so many photos that I put off processing and developing forgetting beauties such as this. The Apostles are visible on this photo from the lookout point near the Great Ocean Road in southern Australia. The road is near Melbourne. The scenery is out of this world; definitely worth the drive if you are ever in Melbourne.
This is an HDR shot of the north-westernmost aspect of the monastery of Holy Trinity (Meteora, Greece) before sunset. The monastery was built in 1362 AD or earlier at a height of 1,755 feet (535 m), close to the top of the rock formation bearing the same name. One can use the 149 steps carved in the rock in 1925 to ascend to the monastery.
Holy Trinity is one of the many impressive and lofty rock formations whose group is collectively called Meteora: The sandstone megaliths' height varies 1,000–1,800 ft (300–550 m). The rock masses were formed 60 million years ago, are geologically unique and listed in UNESCO world heritage sites.

Another HDR shot (attempt). Not sure of the name of the place but its somewhere on the road to Inveraray.
I wasn't sure if I should have cropped the left and bottom out.
This is from the last shoot I did with the BMW, I removed all the stickers and sold it last Sunday. *sniff*. It took about 8 hours for 2 guys to remove all the decals - my fingernails hurt.

Non-HDR shot of the boys getting their skis on for their morning ski lesson. I had to teach them from 1-3y/o because ski schools/instructors wouldn't take them at that age.
This is Travus 6th season on skis and Austin's 3rd. Had them both on skis at 1 y/o, because I can't wait for them to ski/board with Chizuko and I in the backcountry bowls!
Chizuko and I proceed to hit the Annupuri back bowls for a couple hours after that :-)

I would have loved to have gone to the next level but I was a bit shy and the sign saying hotel residents only put me off!

5XP HDR shot of Times Square in Manhattan, New York.
A nice lady with two small kids in tow tapped me on my shoulder as I was setting up and asked:
"Do you know if there is a McDonald's nearby?"
"Yes, just up ahead and to the left." I replied.
She said thanks and was about to go on her way when the small boy turned, saw the big glass bubble of the attached 14-24mm lens and exclaimed:
"Wow!! That's a camera!!"

After some refining. HDR shot of Tokyo from the Metro Building. I didn't want to have the "overboard" HDR effect, but more of a subtle enhancement; something that makes you pause and ponder.
***UPDATE 9/19/2007: I replaced the original shot with one that I think is much better, in between the original darker one and the lighter one, I think this is a lot clearer! I did some more fine-tuning and tweaking (especially with the color profile!)
Well, the rain stopped and I went back to this wonderful old house. I hope you like it too because I took about 10 HDR shots of this place.
