This is an HDR shot of the snow-capped Mount Olympus (2,918 m or 9,570 ft, Greece), as viewed from South West, from afar (from a distance of 51 miles or 82 km away), from the outskirts of Kalampaka. One can discern the “Throne of Zeus.”

The highest mountain in Greece was thought as the 12 gods' everlasting residence, according to Homer. The sacred mountain has long inspired a legion of poets.

Moody HDR shot taken from 'The Study'. Check this place out if you can or haven't already - it gives such an amazing panorama of this fantastic glen! There's a great promotory near the old climber's hut opposite the waterfall just above the gorge.

Spot the ghost!

This was an HDR shot taken the same day as this Calico Hills shot. I never did much with it as this fellow walked through the frame. Recently rediscovered it thought I'd have a little fun processing it. The shot was of portrait orientation so I cropped it down to square. I desaturated it and played with the channels to get the tone I wanted. Added an S curve to bring out the blacks. Finally, added a texture and a fake TTV border from the Totally Free Texture group.

I quite like the outcome myself, hope you enjoy it too.

Went to the morning market with my little camera and took this shot. A man saw me and told me that I could get a better view of the sunrise if I go uphill.. That was very friendly of him.. Not just him, a couple of people did that too. But my intention was to take pictures of people, not the sunrise. It's just a friendly neighbourhood anyway, I shall say. :)

I've been addicted to Flickr lately and completely leave all my study behind :P

Hence more time for me on playing around with Photomatix and Photoshop; thus more HDR now. :P

Just for fun anyway. Another HDR shot! Hope it's not so bad :)

(I like watching people more now and take more shots of street photos if I could.)

Panoramic HDR shot of the most beautiful gorge in northwestern Slovenia in the municipalities of Gorje and Bled, four kilometers northwest of Bled. Carved by the Radovna River, it is the continuation of the Radovna Valley.

HDR shot made up of two different shots, one to capture the train coming to me and another for the one going far from me. Both shots were taken as long exposure of 46 seconds. HDR was managed with Enfuse. Haida ND3.0 filter (10 steps) was used. Source shots were initially processed with Darktable creating the basic canvas for AdobeRGB with logarithm option for unbreak plugin.

Additional plugins like Tone Curve, Highpass filters, Local contrast, Lowpass filters, Haze removal, some denoise plugins, and others were applied.

Another HDR shot of the Orange County Convention Center. As you can see, I was fascinated.

The HDR work was done with Photomatix (additional processing in Photoshop) & you can officially consider me hooked on the product.

This is obviously an HDR shot of a Hotrod engine in a Chevy BelAir. The last few HDR shots I've posted I have been working on a more natural look but for stuff like this I just can't help pushing the envelope. This is single raw exposure converted to 3 and edited in Photomatix. I shot this at a local car show. Living right off Route 66 has it's perks. :)

3xp HDR shot (although the HDR is somewhat muddled due to the extra processing I did afterwards in Photoshop). Crouching under the apple tree. Rejected because... there's a bit of ghosting due to the branches shaking, and I just preferred the other shot :-)

Another HDR shot. I learned the hard way last year in the Grand Tetons that sage brush and other dried-out vegetation burns out unless underexposed, so now I automatically take three bracketed exposures and either blend them together with a graduated transition, or use masks for simple canyon shapes, or HDR. There's color in those sages, it just has to be brought out. Taken along the Colorado Riverway near Moab, Utah, on Jeff Clow's Dirt Cheap Photo Tour.

Well, it's that time of year again. Christmas and New Year celebrations have been and passed and now everyone's preparing for the challenges the next 12 months will present... I've got a pretty important year ahead of me, and hopefully this time next year, who knows, I might've put in my application for university and heard back from one or two... But for now I'm focusing on my AS levels this summer.

This was taken last summer following my GCSEs and I recently discovered it sitting on my computer. Funnily enough, this has turned in to one of my favourites of 2011. This simple shot is a refreshing change from the HDR shots I've been doing lately really.

HDR shot from the Tower at Fountains abbey.

Another HDR shot. This time 7 shots combined in Photomatix and then finished in Lightroom. Pushed the processing to the max in this one and tried several edits. This B&W conversion with a heavy vignette was the winner for me, a more moodier image than the original.

A HDR shot looking across to Grasmere shore with breaking sun on the bank. I like the small island the light makes and the overall HDR effect. I know HDR isn't for every picture (and I certainly dont always use it) but it seemed the most effective here. I find its always worth taking bracketed exposure just in case.

This image (like Number 7) was taken in a car park in Japan. I guess collectible vehicles go hand-in-hand with unique license numbers, eh? :D

I took this three exposure HDR shot of the amazing pagodas at the Chinese Garden in Singapore. The clouds were really great that day too!

HDR shot of sunset in the Utah desert, on the way back from Delicate Arch.

5XP HDR shot from the streets of Roppongi in Tokyo, Japan.

Found an interesting angle to take an image of the sunset from street-level that wasn't directly in-your-face, so to speak. Lamp posts and overhead wires don't really factor into my decision-process since it is what it is. Funnily enough, a Corvette came cruising through as I was setting up and only noticed that I captured it after the fact, lol Nothing quite like cruising around the streets on a beautiful afternoon!

This is a 5 exposure HDR shot made with Photomatix. This shot was taken maybe three quarters of a mile from the Red Springs visitors area parking lot. From there, there are several easy walking trails that take you up into the hills for a closer look. Most of my other shots of this area have been taken roadside, but for these I went closer to show the detail of these amazing hills. The sky that day also co-operated nicely with the dramatic clouds.

This shot really needs to be seen large on black to be appreciated, or download the full size and check it out full screen. Makes for a nice wall paper :)
