Taken from Ecola State Park just north of Canon Beach, OR. The closest four rocks are named Bird Rocks. Beyond is the iconic Haystack Rock and The Needles.
Photographed on the only clear/almost sunny evening during a visit to Cannon Beach, Oregon.

I was amazed we had picked such a great beach to go to and it was on a whim. We were tired and decided to stop for the night. We had no prior knowledge of this beach or the rock formations. I did not even know this was Haystack Rock until I saw a postcard in Idaho!!! Talk about flying by the seat of your pants...we also got the last RV spot there!
Took a few of the bears to the coast and next thing you know Becky is trying to do the Hula... Well, It was fun while it lasted and palm trees don't grow on this part of the coast but we had fun anyway... Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday, Everybody!!!
I did a quick edit of this while on vacation but always intended to come back to it with a more careful eye on the composition. It's still a little more noisy in the foreground than I'd like but the payoff is that you can see the reflection of the clouds as well as the stars. I love the mood of this photo.
I don't remember exactly what I did with the twirl to get this design but I liked it and even made a little video with it... Course Blue just happens to be my favorite color... :-)

We spent a day on the Oregon Coast in early July, and managed to stick around for the sunset. Due to having to get up early for work, my bedtime is 9:00. The sunset finally let up at about 9:30, and we still had a 2 hour trip home. I think it was worth it.

From February of this year. I used the Twirly Camera for this, but it turns out that it needs some repair. The gears are grinding a bit, and the negatives turn out uneven. There’s a place that fixes them in the midwest. I'm sending it there soon.

After a day to restore body and bike, 63-mile ride from Bandon to Gold Beach. A beautiful day along the coast. Caught up with fellow cyclists that I met in Pacific City.
Haystack Rock is a 235-foot (72-meter) sea stack in Cannon Beach, Oregon. A popular tourist destination, the monolithic rock is adjacent to the beach and accessible by foot at low tide. The Haystack Rock tide pools are home to many intertidal animals, including starfish, sea anemone, crabs, chitons, limpets, and sea slugs. The rock is also a nesting site for many seabirds, including terns and puffins
