The all-new Kia cee’d made its world premiere at the 82nd Salon International de l’Auto in Geneva.

Longer, lower and sleeker than the original model, the 4.3-metre long new cee’d hatchback has a streamlined silhouette. Higher quality cabin materials and a broader range of high-tech equipment will ensure the interior of new cee’d matches the premium exterior appearance and competes with best-in-class rivals across Europe.

Across most of Western Europe, the new cee’d will be available with two gasoline (1.4 MPI, 1.6 GDI) and two diesel (1.4 WGT,1.6 VGT) engines offering power outputs from 90 to 135 ps.

A (1989/90) Vauxhall Cavalier Mk III Hatchback.

Despite the lack of an estate version, the Cavalier topped the large-medium family car sales charts in Britain in 1990, ahead of the Ford Sierra, Rover 400 and Rover Montego. Its best year for sales was 1992, when it was Britain's second best selling car behind the Ford Escort. It did not lose top spot in its sector until it was overtaken by the Ford Mondeo in 1994.

Following twenty years in production (1975-1995) and over 1,800,000 units sold, the Cavalier became the fifth most popular car ever sold in Britain.
