The Golden Hawk Sabre Jet located on Brockville's Waterfront is a war memorial for Royal Canadian Air Force members who have lost their lives and have served Canada. The memorial features a Canadair CF86 Mark VI aircraft on a concrete pedestal with a small plaque.
Happy Birthday (tomorrow)to my furry pal. From his first day here, when he was small enough to sleep in a box of tissues, to this morning, when he's happy to snooze in any sunny spot, makes it 12 wonderful years since he was born on Feb 1st. What a character.

I took this shot a few months back. Not many wildflowers around right now..;( I finally finished paining the inside today. To save money, I agreed to do the trim, baseboards and cabinets. So, the painters finished last week..:) It looks pretty good. The grey on the walls had more blue in than I expected, but I'm ok with it. I was going to paint the cabinet a blue grey but changed my mind and painted them white.

There was a heavy snowfall recently in the Alberta, Canada town in which I live.
The snow brought a lot of walkers out, everyone happy, everyone rejoicing in winter's beauty. And someone - probably but not necessarily a child - was kind enough to build this little snow person, and leave it by the river's edge for all to enjoy.
In the spirit of which I say, "Happy Holidays, everyone."
Wishing all my American flickr friends a very happy Thanksgiving weekend. I haven't seen Mr. Wild Turkey around lately so hopefully he found a safe place to enjoy the holiday....

Walter came over from Germany at the age of 9 when his father died, around 1852, to live with his oldest sister in New Braunfels, Texas which is south of Austin. He change his last name to Tips, but I couldn't find out why. It was a hardware store when he was alive. Now it a bank

Happy Fence Friday..HFF!
This is a shot from the play area on the side of the, "Easy Tiger Bake Shop & Beer Garden." It's located on east 6th street here in Austin. It's a pretty cool place, especially if you like to play ping pong. Just to the left of the fence are the ping pong tables, but what's funny is, just to the left of the ping pong tables and fifteen feet down is Waller creek. I'm betting, a lot of ping pong balls have floated on down the creek..lol..At first, I wondered why the bartender gave me two ping pong balls..:) But, I figured it out fairly quickly. I didn't lose one but came close..;) The other thing of interest, and still doesn't make a lot of sense, was the full bakery upstairs. Guess it coffee and donuts in the morning and sausage, pretzels and beer in the afternoon..:) Have a great weekend
