Making happy memories with my family whilst on holiday, this was taken today on a real gem of a beach called Crantock Beach - utterly beautiful.
Happy I'm not a bug eating bird. Happy he's too small to be fish bait. Or maybe not happy at all. I'm a photographer, not a bug psychologist and this is all random weirdness from the deapths of my mind..
Happy Birthday
October 10th Today marks another trip around the sun for me, the 37th to be exact.
As I have gotten older my birthday has taken on less and less significance. I don't really celebrate it anymore but my family will always be more than happy to do that for me. They usually take me out for a good meal here and there and I get the usual text messages wishing me a happy birthday. But no matter how I feel about my birthday, being bombarded by “Happy birthday” messages all day is a great feeling.
Even though I may not celebrate my birthday, it still holds a special significance for me. I was diagnosed with cancer when I had just turned 18 years old and was close to losing my battle a few years later in 2006 at the age of 21, that year I spent most of my days in a hospital celebrating new years, my birthday, and thanksgiving among others within the walls of the hospital. 16 years later and I am still going strong making my rounds around the sun.
I may not be big on birthdays but every year it's a reminder that nothing should be taken for granted and knowing that I am still around to celebrate it, makes it all the sweeter.
Happy 37th Birthday to me.

A medida de mi edad, mi cumpleaños ha adquirido cada vez menos importancia. Realmente ya no lo celebro, pero mi familia siempre estará más que feliz de hacerlo por mí. Por lo general, me invitan a una buena comida aquí y allá y recibo los mensajes de texto habituales deseándome un feliz cumpleaños. Pero no importa cómo me sienta acerca de mi cumpleaños, ser bombardeada con mensajes de "Feliz cumpleaños" todo el día es una gran sensación.
Aunque no celebre mi cumpleaños, todavía tiene un significado especial para mí. Me diagnosticaron cáncer cuando recién cumplía 18 años y estuve cerca de perder la batalla unos años después en el 2006 a la edad de 21 años, ese año pasé la mayor parte de mis días en un hospital celebrando el año nuevo, mi cumpleaños, y acción de gracias entre otros dentro de las paredes del hospital. 16 años después y sigo con fuerza haciendo mis rondas alrededor del sol.
Puede que no me gusten mucho los cumpleaños, pero cada año es un recordatorio de que no se debe dar nada por sentado y saber que todavía estoy presente para celebrarlo lo hace aún más bueno.

International Pi Day is a chance for math enthusiasts (like She Who Must Be Obeyed) to celebrate the number pi - represented by its first three digits of 3.14. Many use the day to discuss the number, recite its infinite digits and eat plenty of Pie. It is celebrated on the same day every year - March 14, which this year is on Saturday. Happy Pi Day! March 14 ( 3.14). Any excuse to eat some yummy pie.

I just finished my first full 2 weeks of full-time employment and might have a full weekend off (weather dependent). Working is really cutting into the amount of time I can spend with Joe but he's being really good about it. I'm trying to get him out hiking as much as I can but between work and the winter weather, it's really been limited. I'm hoping to get him out hiking or running before work once it gets light out earlier in the morning...and I've been letting him sleep on my bed with me at night :-)

I'm at a loss with the new Flickr format. I can't figure out how to add an image to my groups, nor can I figure out how to add my image to a group when I get an invitation. And, Flickr isn't being very helpful.
I ran this one through Topaz to make the colors pop. Maybe too much..;))
On a lighter note. I noticed that images from the groups we're in are now displayed under the comments box...lol..My, my, some of the groups my contacts are in really surprised me. But, it was in a good way...lol..To each his own..;)
