"This Modern lamp is supremely adjustable - it can be raised, lowered, moved from side to side, or remain put"
My reading + chillout lounge is finally done today! Freakin' tiring to paint the wall + decoration... but all happy now :)
Loft apartment interior design with panoramic window. Living room with grey hanging lamp upper white low table. 3D render
Ørjan just hung our LERAN lamp. We have the same one in the living room and I think this one compliments the flow of the rooms so much more now that this is up. It looks slightly off because I removed the extra boards that lengthen the table and pushed it to the back wall to make room while I was cleaning.
Tried and tried to get a shot of the lampshade itself (it was so pretty) but I couldn't get the camera to focus properly - so I turned it into a reflection self-portrait. ;)
We were able to take advantage of the free seniors day at the Arizona Science Center on the first Sunday of the month (January 7 2018) and bought tickets for Pompeii: The Exhibition. The Pompeii exhibit was amazing, with a variety of artifacts as well as body casts of some of the victims

Very nice little café, completely styled in 60's-retro. It's not only comfortable but also serves the best damn waffles in Berlin. And I once saw Peaches there. In the meantime they have some new boards above the shelves -- I already miss these old ones!
I never tire of that joke. This young lady is much thinner in person than she appears in the photograph. (sorry, miss).
It is said that it was while watching this hanging lamp that Galileo developed his theory of a pendulum's motion.

Interior of the Al Hakim Mosque, in Cairo. Shiite shrine to one of the cruelest rulers in all history...
Brainstorming for household uses for my fibers brought me this idea, which I jumped on and ran with for all I’m worth: handspun-covered lampshades. Textural, light, versatile, sturdy, and full of visual interest, a basket-style lampshade crafted from handspun yarn can add great visual appeal to any setting. I took my photos outside, because I liked the backdrop of slowly turning leaves against the yarn, but I recommend using it indoors.
The yarn is woven onto a metal frame, so it is very sturdy, and the pendant lamp internals are built on an Ikea lamp base. The yarn shown was hand prepped & dyed, carded by me on my Fancy Kitty drum carder, spun in a thick/thin textured style, and woven on the frame in such a way that it appears solidly covered, but it will allow light to seep through the weave in alluring ways. Wool is flame-resistant, long-wearing, and holds vivid colors – perfect for a lamp covering! Lamp comes with hardware for hanging, as well.
Contents: Merino & Corriedale & Wensleydale wools, Mulberry Silk, Milk Fiber, touch of Angelina sparkle. Woven over a metal frame. Comes with hanging hardware.
12 inches across, about 7 inches tall, not including lighting assembly. Pendant cord with direct plug-in. Weighs approx. 1.7 lbs.

An elaborate bronze hanging oil lamp - locally called the 'dalu'- in the Patan Museum in the Lalitpur/ Patan Durbar square near Kathmandu in Nepal. It used to be a tradition in the Nepal of your to hang an oil lamp outside houses, partly as a mark or sanctity and also to illuminate the path for passers by. Many of these were simply clay lamps, but this being the Royal palace, the lamps of course had to be a lot more elaborate and opulent. This one is made from bronze. Detailed notes about the Lalitpur/ Patan Durbar square where I am now appeared earlier in this album (see previous pictures) and will also appear later as we go along in this album (Lalitpur/ Patan Durbar Square, Nepal, Oct/ Nov 2019)
This gorgeous lamp hung above our table at Raising Cane's, a regional fast-food chicken-fingers restaurant.
Signage about the ornamental bronze oil lamp or 'dalu' which you saw in the previous picture. The sign is fairly self explanatory if viewed in full screen or expanded mode (the intervening chain notwithstanding), so I will save you the commentary. This is an exhibit in the Patan Museum located in the buildings of the former Royal palace in the Lalitpur/ Patan Durbar square near Kathmandu, Nepal.
