I made this lamp with paper mache obtained from old newspapers. It has a shape of Earth - that's why I called it "Globe."
Its "nucleus" the source of light, brings it to life. When enabled, we'll see a glowing and full of light planet. I left some small holes in the structure of the lamp, so the light can pass through the lampshade and creates beautiful shadows on the wall. Its structure – gray, porous, irregular looks like soil – dry and cracked.

A wee alley way in Carentan, France. Loved the cobblestones in the walkway and the way the stones of the walls of the buildings seem to match.

This spectacular Byzantine chandelier was installed in Holy Ascension Orthodox Church (Mt. Pleasant, SC) in April, 2012. When I designed the church eight years earlier, I planned for this chandelier. It is modelled upon the 'Munich Choros', a medieval Byzantine fixture similar to the one still in place in the Decani Monastery, Kosovo. Thanks to a memorial gift, I have finally had the opportunity to build this choros. It is 18 feet in diameter, 22 feet tall, and made primarily of plasma-cut steel parts articulated with hinges. The candles on top are electrified, while the glass lamps hanging below are able to hold oil or candles. The bars include an inscription in ornamental lettering from the book of Revelation: "There shall be no night there, and they need no candle, neither light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light, and they shall reign for ever and ever."

The stunning 5-floor landmark building (Classical Revival style) originally opened in 1897 and housed the first Chicago Public Library and a Civil War Memorial.
When the central public library moved to a new home in the Loop in 1991, the Chicago Cultural Center moved in. One of the most comprehensive free art showcases in the USA - it's known as the "People's Palace" - providing Chicago both a local and global arts cultural scene from radio, literature, art, music, dance to theater, film and lectures.
STAINED-GLASS DOMES:

The building is home to 2 magnificent stained-glass domes. One by George Healy and Louis Millet in the Grand Army of the Republic rotunda. The other a Louis Tiffany of the Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company in the Preston Bradley Hall - reported to be the largest Tiffany dome in the world at 38 feet in diameter with some 30,000 pieces of glass in 243 sections held within an ornate case iron frame. In 2008 it was fully restored to Tiffany's original vision as it was in 1897.

The artistic gourd lamp shines its magic light and creates a mystical and romantic atmosphere in the room. Each gourd lamp is an individual, extraordinary masterpiece of handicrafts, which adorns living and sleeping rooms with its overwhelming play of lights. It takes an extraordinary lot of work and time to make a gourd lamp, but it's worth it as the result is an exceptional work of art, which makes for pretty decoration even in broad daylight, but in the dark it really comes to life and enchants everybody with its wonderful light. Would you like one to adorn your own home, or as an exclusive, unforgettable present for someone special? See more of them at www.gourdlamps.com
