Rising from tea, Aine is ready for the next lesson.
Aine is wearing a wig by Anastasia Fashiondoll (on instagram) and the kimono and hair ornaments are made by me. (Excepting the yellow resin kanzashi.)
Handmade crane kanzash, a kind of Japanese fabric art. These are made out of the same silk that is used in making kimono. I used kimono fabric, which you can see in red and gold, and ivory habutae (the very light weight silk used in lining kimono; it is very expressive).
This kimono fabric is from a wedding kimono fabric...I only have a very small amount of this fabric, so this is a special design.
正月飾りで作った鶴です。このつるはいつものより二倍おおきくて作るのを工夫しました! 綺麗にできたら嬉しいです。
This kimono is deceptively simple on the top and sleeves, but from behind you can see this kimono is exquisitely painted. We were happy to buy it and put it together to be worn for years by various 1/3 dolls...
Anyway, who do you think wore it best?
Leaves are red momiji~ lovely again.
These are actually more than a hundred squares folded one at a time to make petals, and then arranged into wisteria shapes. 💜
Made for 1/4th size dolls.
I like their wisteria-pink obi. It's not one I get asked for often, but I really do like it.
The bright blue flowers are some of my favorite designs so far.
Pattern by Frayed Knot
An absolute GENIUS pattern! Why? Because it doesn't need a liner! I use this bag as a purse every single day and I LOVE it! Very sturdy… I'd show you what I carry on a daily basis, but then you'd judge me ;)
This is one of my first kimonos that I made. Ariadne can wear it too! It's not quite red-- I think it is vermilion 朱色 or maybe 緋色.
Since I have a new size 1/3rd, this means I make a variety of sizes of kanzashi and try them on my 1/6th and 1/8th dolls too. ;)
Kanzashi made by me...
Thinking about changing the support style for the smallest one-- it's a bit awkward for such a small piece. Might give up flexibility for compactness. ♥

And afterward you can divide it up again and use all the fragments in new projects!
Miyabi and Choco are surrounded by flowers. ♥ Most oft hem are person-sized clips and pins, but they're wearing plum blossom kanzashi.
I made Miyabi's kimono, Choco's lacey trousers, and all the kanzashi.
I made this black kimono and light blue haori set for a kind customer. Some machine sewing, but about half sewn by hand.

I always have to show the beautiful yuzen on the back of kimono...and the over sized bow because it's my favorite type.
