This is a pretty solid obi. It's made of silk; kimono silk, to be exact, but a thicker weave than the furisode silk the kimono is made from. It folds very nicely.

Which do you like? The solid silk obi, which is dressed up with a shibori obijime, or the pretty gold one with a lot of character?

Nagajyuban is a kind of light weight (usually silk) kimono worn under the more ornate silk over-kimono. The nagajyuban is part of formal kimono wearing.

Juniper is wearing the purple roh kimono: it is a light weight silk that is nearly transparent, and such a thin weave that it has a nice silhouette.

I do like the simpler kimono too.

The obi on this one is a simple cotton fabric with Japanese traditional pattern, but in gold. Ariadne loves it.

So, put the crown on top, slipping the sivler loops under your hair bow. Slip the long kanzashi next to that, secure with a clip if you're not actually putting it all the way up.

Slip the bira-kanzashi on the opposite side of the long one; it is light weight, so can hold itself in most hair. (Unlike people, dolls won't dislodge it easily. ♥)
