I'm cutting my hair,

it's down to my arse,

and I have no use for tucking it in my pants.

I have mixed feelings,

any advice from long haired freaky people like me?

I Love Love Love this hair. It's fun, wild, stylish, and can be worn with anything.

"The Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) is the smallest extant rhinoceros species, as well as the one with the most hair. It can be found at very high altitudes in Borneo and Sumatra. Due to habitat loss and poaching, their numbers have declined and it has become the most threatened rhinoceros. About 275 Sumatran rhinos are believed to remain. There are three subspecies of Sumatran rhinoceros: the Sumatran rhinoceros proper (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis sumatrensis), the Bornean rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis harrissoni) and the possibly extinct Northern Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis lasiotis)."

A Hairy Shieldbug on a Euphorbia in Christchurch Park!

The Hairy Shieldbug or Sloe Bug (Dolycoris baccarum) is purple-brown with a greenish 'shield' and chequered black and white edges to the abdomen. The antennae are also banded black and white. The body and legs are covered in fine hairs.

It is common and widespread in England and Wales, with small populations in Scotland and Northern Ireland. It can be found in hedgerows, woodland margins and also parks and gardens. It feeds on the fruits and flowers of shrubs and other plants, including blackthorn, damson and other members of the Rosaceae family.

Ribbon in my hair. It looks really sad.

Poor, sad little ribbon.

God, I love the word "euphomism".

I do, it's a really nice word.

And it's so common.

I have frizzy hair.

I used to HATE it, I felt like such a freak because all my friends had such shiny straight hair, they always made fun of me because my hair was so bushy and curly.

So I fried it with a straightener and tons of bleach and color.

So now it's all sad and cooked :(

But hey, it's growing out, and I really like it, now.

It's funny and I can do so much.

I like my frizzy hair.

I remember

Just listening

Looking up to

A fantasy

Til the day it was right in front of me

Now it’s ruined

Now it looks like

Tablescraps and nothing else

Hehehehe...

I'm please with this one, too, if I do say so myself. XD

Haha...

Well the title says it all 'Guess who?' - Well, it is the same simmie of the edit I did before this...

Exactly the same.

I was too lazy to open up my game and get a new pic... So I just edited the crap otu of this. ^-^

If the arms look weird it's because I drew them on haha.

As well as the hair...

Changed the hue in the eyes... did the dodgy lip heart thing... erm... shortened her neck, but now I think it looks weird. :P

Erm... the top is from the internet, I just found it uber cute so I had to use it! LOL

Erm... yeah.

I like the shading in this hair, it looks silky. ^-^

Enjoy?

(Yeah, you might of guessed I'm just testing out hair right now XD Seeing as I've learnt how to do it without a tablet - yey!)

CHRISTMAS SHOULD COME SOONER!

XD

Sarah has finally her black eyes!

I've painted her eyechips because they seemed dark grey rather than black, and I used silver laser paper on the back.

I've also combed her hair, it's so soft!

While visiting Atlanta I discovered a neighborhood called, Little Five Points. It was one of the city's most interesting districts. Atlanta has so much that is new, gleaming and predictable that it was refreshing to find a place that had some local color.

It was there, that I came across this haggard looking mannequin. I was struck by the stark look on her face. Her lipstick was too red and she had a lantern jaw and along with the excessive makeup and thinning white hair, it gave her a wizened appearance peculiar for mannequins from that era. Generally a more youthful, softer appearance was affected but this gal looked like she'd had it rough around the edges and I loved her for it. The pink clouds seemed momentarily to have captured her notice long enough to contemplate them.

When we were younger we thought

Everyone was on our side

Then we grew a little bit

And romanticized the time I saw

Flowers in your hair

It takes a boy to live

It takes a man to pretend he was there

This is my dear friend Rob Woodcox! His is an absolutely incredible artist, and I am so amazed every day that I have the privilege of calling him a friend. If you haven't seen his work yet, you should go do that now. His stream is here.

This is from the best New Year's Day of my life. I will never forget this day, because it was a day I realized how important and influential photography is in my life. Through photography, I have been to some of the most beautiful places on this earth. Through photography, I have met some of my closest friends. Through photography, I have had the happiest moments in my life.

Photography has blessed me so much, and for that I am grateful beyond words.

Common sunflower is a widely branching, stout annual, 1 1/2-8 ft. tall, with coarsely hairy leaves and stems. The terminal flowers heads are large and showy, up to 5 in. across. A tall, coarse leafy plant with a hairy stem commonly branched in the upper half and bearing several or many flower heads, the central maroon disk surrounded by many bright yellow rays. Yellow ray flowers surround brown disk flowers.

The state flower of Kansas. Contrary to common myth, the heads of sunflowers do not follow the sun each day. However, developing flower buds and leaves do exhibit some phototropism. The plant has been cultivated in Central North America since pre-Columbian times; yellow dye obtained from the flowers, and a black or dull blue dye from the seeds, were once important in Native American basketry and weaving. Native Americans also ground the seeds for flour and used its oil for cooking and dressing hair. It was believed, in the 19th century, that plants growing near a home would protect from malaria. Seeds from cultivated strains are now used for cooking oil and livestock feed in the United States and Eurasia. Many variants have been developed, some with one huge head topping a stalk 9-16 ft (3-5 m) tall, others with maroon rays. Prairie Sunflower (H. petiolaris), found throughout the Great Plains and similar to the wild forms of Common Sunflower, has scales on the disk in the center of the head tipped by white hairs, easily visible when the central flowers are spread apart.

Sarah has finally her black eyes!

I've also combed her hair, it's so soft!

Tressy's grow hair strand wasn't missing after all. It was jammed way down into her body cavity. I extracted it, washed & conditioned it and did a preliminary untangling.

Did another lil post processing exercise with Diyosa. Like before, she sent me her RAW file and we both took stabs at post processing the same image.

Tried a few different things from my last time. At least she has a nice head of hair. It looked like I gave her a haircut with my last exercise. :D

When I had yellow and orange hair. It looks good on me,huh?

One of the two babies ;) Apparently, hairless squirrels will eventually grow hair. It will be fun to watch them grow up.

The fox moth (Macrothylacia rubi) is a fairly large moth and unsurprisingly the caterpillar is fairly large as well.

With all that long hair, it certainly looks nice and cuddly, but as many have painfully discovered, in between all the fuzz is a nasty surprise.

Some of the hairs are connected to venom sacs and if the caterpillar isn't handled careful enough, then they might break off and cause a painful itch which can linger for weeks or even longer.

Nigella Damascena. The name "nigella" comes from the Latin "niger" which means black and which refers to the color of the seeds contained in the capsules. As for the name of Venus Hair, it is due to the aerial finesse of its foliage. The solitary flowers on a stem, are surrounded by kinds of very filiform bracts. Very decorative, they have a light and bushy harbor, and are well adapted for wild and country gardens.

Messy hair, bed and grain. :) I was just browsing flickr last night and saw someone's picture to their 52 weeks project and thought, "Crap! I need to do mine!", I totally forgot I was doing it. So, I took out my camera that instant and took a picture. So, this is a little late and isn't very good, but oh well. I haven't liked any of my weekly photos! This is my natural hair, it isn't straight. I have full on spiral curls. You can't really tell from this picture, though because it's a mess. This is what happens when I do nothing to it. =P I think I look a lot younger with curly hair. And actually get told that often.

At some point in the late 80s or early 90s someone (I forget who now) told me about a small band of elves who lived alongside humans near Anaheim. They all looked human enough, the main differentiator being their silver eyes and auburn hair. It seemed like a family of brothers and sisters but they all worked as mechanics for race tracks or raced cars themselves. Everyone thought they were human.

I often see a tip for telling if a bug is a bee or a wasp which says that if it has hair - it must be a bee.

The thing is that even though a honey bee is significantly fuzzier, wasps, like this worker common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) definitely have a lot of hair on them as well.

I find that the shape of the eyes are a better tell in a photo as wasps have more elongated eyes and have a slight narrowing in the middle while bee eyes are more elliptic. Also, honey bees are never black and bright yellow like this.

The one in this shot is enjoying the lagre inflorescence on a purple angelica (Angleica gigas).

This is my entry for this week's Macro Mondays challenge, "The First Letter of My Surname"

We take these for granted, but they are much more than just pieces of stationary which have been widely in use for over 150 years.

They were, in fact, a symbol of unity as they bring things together, during the Second World War. So much so that the Nazi regime had banned people from wearing it on their body or to tie up their hair.

It was also the name of a then Top Secret operation by the U.S Government where the top scientists from the Reich were taken to America to work on the America's Space Program, including the likes of Wernher Von Braun, who needs no introduction!

Additionally, Paperclip also featured as an animated character, Clippy, on most Microsoft Software Products in the Help section - Who doesn't remember that in the old days?

All in all, a piece of flimsy steel which has bound some of the most important documents of Mankind together - That is no ordinary stationery!

The one in focus, belongs to my lovely wife :)

i don't have too much to say about this. Some extras are in comments (finally figured out how to do that) But some advice I have for you: if your going to play with flour, don't wear a black coat and don't get it in your hair. It takes forever to get out :(

More fun with AI-generated images to recreate moments that never happened. Here I wanted to see an earlier head shot of a younger Joanna. I seem to have luck with this AI tool and asking for happy images of people fixing their hair. It gives a good reason to hide their fingers, which AI tools seem to frequently mess up.

It feels so wondrous when your ideas and imaginings come to life. We spent a good hour or so on her hair, it broke my heart to have to take it apart after a few short minutes of shooting but I'm so so happy I finally got to shoot this concept, its been in my mind for quite some time and finally it broke into reality.

I hope everyone is surrounded by loved ones, love to you all ♥

The sort of day when you get the wind between your toes, and the sand in your hair.... It was wonderful!

saturday 5th september;

i waited for jess after she finished work at 2pm. she took me to the hairdresses where rosie bower washed my hair. it don't look that different tbh, my fringe is shorter than it was though, so i can see now. we decided to spontaniously (may be spelt wrong) go to meadowhall, as i had an extra £20 left and she had like £100+ on her card. we were searching for a bag each for college almost all day, haha. eventually i bought one from topshop cause it was cheap and i didn't find anything else i was looking for. jess bought a NYC one (which she thinks is too big, but she likes it). i had a KFC and after about an hour later, we caught the 6:35pm train back.

jess hasn't been too happy recently. after having a really good convosation with her today on the way back, i understood what kinda messed up shit she was/is going through. i took this photo on the way back home, and it may be shitty quality and noisy etc but it represents how hopefully.. things will get brighter - for both jess and others.

i wish everyone luck at whatever they do next (:

In Argentina this bird is known as "cabecita negra" (little black head) (Carduelis magellanica)

"

Description

Measures between 10 and 14 cm. The male is generally greenish above and yellow underneath, has on the head a characteristic black hood, greenish yellow neck and neck, yellow rump, wings and tail are black with very striking yellow stripes in flight. The female has no hood, its head is gray, has the paler back and underneath more greenish than yellow. The juveniles are similar to the female.

Habitat

Very varied, it is adapted to many biotopes and altitudes, from sea level to 5000 m. In gardens and parks of the cities. It prefers mountainous areas rich in forests and bushes.

Singing

It consists of sharp trills and other notes issued very fast. They sing for more than two minutes uninterruptedly, varying the sounds and changing their tone to beautify and break the monotony of the phrase. When a male sings, it infects the rest forming several groups of choirs in the same tree. It has its moments of singing that usually is in the morning or in the afternoons when it refreshes. When it goes in flocks they maintain the permanent contact with their incessant whistles.

Reproduction

Between the months of October to March the male and female separate from the flock to look for a breeding territory. The male chases the female singing and showing his black throat. The mating takes place 7 days before you start building the nest. The female without help from the male builds it in 7 or 9 days. It uses vegetal fibers, stems and fine sticks to give a structure and it internally it covers it with wool and hairs. It places it at the end of a tree branch like eucalyptus or in a conifer, at a high altitude (3-4 meters). The laying usually consists of 3-4 bluish white eggs with brown and black spots, length 16.5 mm, width 12.4 mm, weight 1.5 grams. The hatching and the initial care of the young are done by the female and after days the male collaborates."

One of my favourite beetles - the Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn (Agapanthia villosoviridescens) - seen in Chantry Park today!

The Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn is a large and very distinctive longhorn beetle with a golden iridescent bloom on the elytra and thorax. The antennae are also very distinctive with dark and light bands. The elytra are somewhat bristly with hairs.

It is found mainly found in damp meadows, woodland rides and hedgerows. It is a stem borer that breeds in the stems of thistles and other herbaceous plants. Adults feed on umbellifers such as Hogweed and Cow Parsley as well as on nettles. It can be seen from April to August, peaking in May and June.

Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorns are locally common across central and southern England, though absent from the southwest. They are scarcer in northern England and largely absent from Wales.

A genial, efficient, tireless pollinator, the alfalfa leafcutter bee became a hero in the first half of the 20th century when they saved the declining alfalfa seed industry.

The Leafcutter Bee is a productive pollinator for summer gardens and flowers.

The female carries pollen on the underside of her hairy abdomen, and then scrapes the pollen off within her nesting hole.

Because the pollen is carried dry on her hair, it falls off easily as she moves among blossoms.

This results in significantly more pollinated flowers than her cousin, the honey bee, who wets the pollen so it sticks to the legs during transport to the hive.

All leafcutter bees are solitary, meaning each female is a queen who does all of the chores.

The leafcutter bee is extremely gentle and allows you to confidently get inches from her nesting hole without fear of being stung.

We got them!

Which one is your favourite?

My favourite is Avea. I love Avea's centaur body, her harpy wings and her dark carnival-esque make-up!

My sister loves Bonita because of her amazing skeleton/moth body, gorgeous big wings, ultra sleek long hair and colour combination.

Although, she says Sirena is really growing on her but we need to fix her hair, it's so tangled and messy >_<
