Curly hair?

It appears that my hair missed the humidity. cause now I'm here and it's curly.

CRAZINESS!

Photographing the cranes and geese from the north-south walking path is aided by the east rising morning sun on your back as you photograph to the west. On the other side of the path there is no such easy shot… but here is a Say’s Phoebe flitting about grabbing insects out of the sky not 20 yards (18.3 m) away. She lands on a branch and I turn to shoot… the low sun is blazing directly into my eyes and the lens as I hopefully get the -EV (or should it be +EV) right and focus. I can’t see the tracking box or eye box; I hope for the best… It takes five full minutes for me to get my sight returned trying to shoot cranes in the opposite direction… oh, woe’s me! First World problems!! (PS: that’s not a hair; it’s part of breakfast)

Flowering almonds, blooming near the building, where I live. In my opinion it's one of the most beautiful blooming bushes :)

Smile on Saturday - theme: "Blossoms" :)

Flowering almond (Prunus triloba) - this densely branched, shrub or small tree is grown for its beautiful pink blossom which appears from early to mid-spring. Found growing wild in China, it enjoys a sunny position in moist but well-drained soil. The flowers are pale pink or white, and the fruit are red and "pubescent", i.e. with soft hair. It is most often found in cultivation in the double flowered form P. triloba 'Multiplex', which has double pink flowers. The flowering almond is ideal in the garden or near the house. Planted in a row, flowering almonds will create an attractive shrub border along a path, patio or property line. Not only will this rustic plant withstand the toughest of winters but it is also gifted with a resistance to most pests and diseases.

Migdałowiec kwitnący obok mojego bloku. Jak dla mnie to jedne z najładniej kwitnących wiosennych krzewów :)

Migdałowiec trójklapowy (Prunus triloba) – gatunek rośliny krzewiastej, należący do rodzaju Prunus. W naturze występuje w Chinach i Korei. Jest rośliną ozdobną – w uprawie oprócz formy krzewiastej występują formy drzewiaste szczepione na podkładce ‘Multiplex’. Kwiaty jasno różowe, osiągają do 3,5 cm średnicy. Zakwita na przełomie kwietnia i maja przed rozwojem liści. Krzewy mają kulistą koronę i wysokość ok. 150 cm.

I find you hidden behind the tree

Your hair it blows, so wild and free

Your eyes they sparkle and they shine

When your gaze, does meet mine

I stroke your face with my fingers

Its softness on my skin, it lingers

Our lips they meet, our tongues entwine

On your beauty , i now dine

I can't resist, your clothes ripped open

My passion aroused, it is woken

We fall urgently down to the ground

Where amongst the flowers is found

Insatiable desire, unstoppable lust

As our cries grow louder with every thrust

Of my passion , sliding deep within

Your nails tear savagely at my skin

Our bodes are shared, under the skies

Love is reflected in your eyes

My teeth they bite your tender skin

As i explore, i swim within

Your hidden lake, where i sow

My seeds of desire, the sun does glow

Down on our nakedness, under the tree

Where we share love, for all to see

Hair ice (also known as ice wool or frost beard) is a type of ice that forms on dead wood and takes the shape of fine, silky hair. It is somewhat uncommon, and has been reported mostly at latitudes between 45 and 55°N in broadleaf forests. The meteorologist and discoverer of continental drift, Alfred Wegener, described hair ice on wet dead wood in 1918, assuming some specific fungi as the catalyst, a theory mostly confirmed by Gerhart Wagner and Christian Mätzler in 2005. In 2015, the fungus Exidiopsis effusa was identified as key to the formation of hair ice.

Formation

Hair ice forms on moist, rotting wood from broadleaf trees when temperatures are slightly under 0 °C (32 °F) and the air is humid. Each of the smooth, silky hairs has a diameter of about 0.02 mm and a length of up to 20 centimetres (7.9 in). The hairs are brittle, but take the shape of curls and waves. They can maintain their shape for hours and sometimes days. This long lifetime indicates that something is preventing the small ice crystals from recrystallizing into larger ones, since recrystallization normally occurs very quickly at temperatures near 0 °C.

The hairs appear to root at the mouth of wood rays (never on the bark), and their thickness is similar to the diameter of the wood ray channels. A piece of wood that produces hair ice once may continue to produce it over several years.

In 2015, German and Swiss scientists identified the fungus Exidiopsis effusa as key to the formation of hair ice. The fungus was found on every hair ice sample examined by the researchers, and disabling the fungus with fungicide or hot water prevented hair ice formation.[1] The fungus shapes the ice into fine hairs through an uncertain mechanism and likely stabilizes it by providing a recrystallization inhibitor similar to antifreeze proteins.

Lady’s mantle is a useful ground cover plant in the garden with interesting leaves and sprays of fine yellow flowers in early summer.

The leaves are curious in that they exhibit the Lotus effect - they are highly water repellent. This ultrahydrophobicity (I stand innocent of the word - blame Wikipedia!) comes from being covered in a dense pelt of fine hairs. It aids the plant by keeping the leaves clean.

I often go out after it has been raining and take some pictures of the water drops on the leaves, which can be fascinating (well, for me, who gets excited by some very strange things at times…). The droplets sit there holding their skirts up primly :)

I liked the shapes of the leaves and the clusters of drops so wanted to accentuate those in the processing. Because it’s all lines and shapes in a near monochrome image I thought it would make good stuff for Sliders Sunday.

I’ll post a link to the in-camera original in the first comment so you can see how far we came.

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday :)

[Developed in Affinity Photo for contrast and exposure.

Added a Levels adjustment to increase the whites and add drama. Unsharp Mask for sharpening and to accentuate the edges before taking it into Topaz Studio.

In Studio used the Glow/Radiance effects (as usual!) to build on the lines. Started from the Contrast Cables preset and went from there. The bulk of the change was effected here.

Then back in Affinity used a Curves layer and a Shadows/Highlights layer to play with the contrast and to add a bit of moodiness. I guess in theory I could have just used Curves, but it’s an example of me going round in spirals :)

I then used a Diffuse Glow adjustment layer to add a glow to (and inside) the droplets. This added a rather pleasing effect and noticeably changed the end result.

The result was then sharpened again using a combination of Unsharp Mask and High Pass/Linear light blend. The latter is very good for sharpening the main edges I have found.

Finally a dark vignette and the frame using layer fx, much as usual.]

If I'd known this morning that I'd find lots and lots of hair ice today getting up early would have been much easier :-)

I'm so happy!!! :D Today we took my a55 into a camera store to try and figure out why the photos were turning out over exposed and kind of light damaged. It turns out that I had the ISO on 6400. Apparently, you should only put the ISO that high up if there is the absolutley very little light. It's supposed to be set in the 100 - 300 range. xD Atleast now I know what "ISO" is and how to use it! :)

Additional updates:

-I saw "The Help" today... it's such a great movie.

-I changed Emmi's name to Marley!

-The doll outfits are from Target.

-I spent a lot of time last night re-dressing up all of my dolls xD

-I really want that new JLY with the blonde curly hair!!!!! IT'S KILLING ME. elle oh elle.

Have a great day! :)

When I think back about my immediate reaction to that redhead girl, it seems to spring from an appreciation of natural beauty. I mean the heart pleasure you get from looking at speckled leaves or the palimpsested bark of plane trees in Provence. There was something richly appealing to her color combination, the ginger snaps floating in the milk-white skin, the golden highlights in the strawberry hair. It was like autumn, looking at her. It was like driving up north to see the colors.

Hello you lovely people :)

I am in love *__* this hair is my new favorite!

You might have figured: This is actually not a new hair. It's an older hair from Dura that comes with a hat in the standard version. However, I really wanted to mix it with the new Cap from HXNOR and Chiaki was so kind to pass me a modify version. Thank you again, Chiaki! I am so happy! 。゚(TヮT)゚。

I hope you guys enjoy this post and the picture.

Have a wonderful day y'all °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

it's also been very dark and wet.

We have been without power since sun. a.m. The dogs are not happy nor are we. We're hoping for downed lines to be fixed some time tonight. [and they were at about 8 pm] My bed smells like a swamp ...boo's feet have made perfect little footprints. Schubert smells funky. Chai is not happy, and I missed the golden globes. and worst of all, we still have mr trump as president-elect. sighhhhhh....

we're supposed to get another storm tonight/tomorrow with thunder and lightning and wind, that damn wind.

the pg&e guy told us not to totally unplug the generator we have for the fridges and one light in the kitchen. it may start all over again tomorrow. [tues]

i took a hot bath and washed my hair.

it's nice to have a flushable toilet.

leon said he was tired of being a pioneer after two days, one night, and six dogs.

An owl in a cage in the evening sun is a beautiful sight to behold. The sun’s rays cast a warm glow over the owl’s feathers, creating a stunning contrast between the dark shadows and the bright light. The owl’s eyes are wide open, taking in the beauty of the world around it. The air is crisp and cool, and you can feel the gentle breeze blowing through your hair. It’s a peaceful and serene moment that you’ll never forget.

Thanks for looking (all the 'blur' is straight out the camera - no jiggery pockery)

Thanks for views, faves and comments! ;-)

June, dressed in her smart red mac, had just arrived to Cooperstown fresh from the year 1973. Curious of the inhabitants, she approached the first two she came across.

June: Hello, I'm June, Sindy's friend from 1973.

Purple Sindy: I had a cat in my hair. I had a cat in my hair.

Blue Sindy: She just had a cat in her hair.

June: (Thinking) "More like a bee in her bonnet."

Purple Sindy: My beautiful hair!

Blue Sindy: There, there, no harm done. If it had been MY hair it had been worse.

June: Ahem, you both have very pretty and most colourful hair. Is that common around these parts?

Blue Sindy: I'm frightfully sorry, where are my manners, haha! Hello June from 1973, it's not every day we meet someone that old, though not entirely uncommon. How are you?

They chatted for a bit and then parted ways, June with an address to the best hairdresser and the other two with a story to tell. Mostly about a cat. (Pah! Youngsters!)

_____________

June - Pedigree made a friend to accompany Sindy. Her name was June and was produced in a few different variants. This would be the second version from 1973.

Blue Sindy - "Ice Skater Sindy" from 2020.

Purple Sindy - "Sweet Treats Sindy" from 2021 (she really did have a cat in her hair.)

I know it is a huge cliche', the woman in a bikini straddling the motorcycle while giving that 'I really want you!' look, or across the roof of a car just waiting for a wash and polish. lol, well as cliche' it is, I had a fan request one of me doing pretty much that, thankfully no bikini but some tall sexy heels and the rest up to me. I am happy to oblige a fan whenever I can, time is always a hard thing for me. So was grateful to squeeze in the time to do this photo and I rather like the outcome, I love the tight leather jeans and the snug sweater with the short hair, it made me feel like a real bad girl doing the pose, laughs. The person loved the photo which is what matters and I learned a few more new things in Photoshop, which makes me pleased when I try something new and I may have to do more "bad girl" photos as they are more fun to do. laughs!

So I hope you all enjoy and again thank you for allowing me to share my photos with you an have a wonderful rest of the Sunday!

One of my favorite songs. We have had some crazy weather here. 65 degrees one day and then snowing the next! This particular picture was taken last weekend on a gloriously warmer evening. This field is the same field I took a picture of my daughter in last year (Golden Moments in Time). It was so fun to return to the same spot and get some fun shots with the kids. The sunset was brilliant and I got tons of shots of the kids turning and twirling in the sun rays which created all sorts of fun sun stars shining through arms and hair. It was superbly fun! The sunshine amped me up for the rest of my weekend. I spent Sunday in Pueblo visiting my Grandma and then did another portrait session while I was there. It was so difficult seeing my Grandma in her frail state. I wish i could scoop her up and take her into these gold fields for the same kind of sunshine magic.

When I was leaving with all five kids my Grandma feebly hugged me as I bent down to kiss her head. "You coming was better than any Christmas present ever." she said. My eyes still sting. We live about two hours away from Pueblo but this visit made me determined to bring the Sunshine to my dear Grandma again this coming weekend and for as much as I am able. Something small like a well timed visit, or a long overdue letter in the mail or even a phone call can do wonders for someone you love. I hope your week is being filled with Sunshine both by nature and by all those who love you. Sending MY love your way! Happy Wednesday everyone <3 xxoo

An iconic Australian "Blue" Cattle Dog at the Eumundi Markets - eye on some food no doubt. Blue is the more common variety (the other is red like our Bella). Notice how the combination of black and grey/white tends to give a bluish shade. Bandit and Bluey of "Bluey" fame are blues while Mum, Chilli and Bingo are reds. The half and half colouring of the head is typical. They are absolutely beautiful and wonderful dogs. Strangely, the Australian traditional colloquialism "Blue or Bluey" used as a man's name means he has red hair. It is not much in common use these days, drowned out by social media Americanisms.

New hair release for Shiny Shabby November round is Harper Hair! It is a non-rigged updo hairstyle with resize script and also there are 3 head shape options are included additionally.

Hope you enjoy <3

The François' langur (Trachypithecus francoisi), also known as the Francois' leaf monkey, Tonkin leaf monkey, or white side-burned black langur is a species of lutung and the type species of its species group. François' langur is a medium-sized primate with black, silky hair. It has very distinct white sideburns that grow down from its ears to the corners of its cheeks. It is one of the least studied of the species belonging to the Colobinae subfamily. The species is distributed from Southwestern China to northeastern Vietnam. The total number of wild individuals is unknown, but fewer than 500 are believed to be left in Vietnam and 1,400–1,650 in China. About 60 langurs are in captivity in North American zoos. The species is named after Auguste François (1857–1935), who was the French Consul at Lungchow in southern China.

Leaf monkeys take their name from the lush jungle foliage that makes up the bulk of their diets. All are equipped with a large, chambered stomach, like that of a cow, which allows them to break down and digest their fibrous fare.

Langurs are born bright orange, but start to change to an adult's black fur with silver tips at about six months old. The orange coloring is believed to help the females in a langur community keep track of, and help raise, the kids—this is referred to as “allomothering.”14636

Last week we got called 3rd! Wow! Thank You! I wasn't expecting that at all and its the highest placing we have recieved in this competition so far. I hope that me and Xion can continue to be deliver good enough photos in order to stay in this competition!

So for this weeks theme we had to be 'Gaga 4 Gaga' which ment our models had to model fashions inspired by the legendary queen of pop, Lady GaGa! The insperation for my photo is this one; michaelpeck.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/lady-gaga-david-l.... Hopefully you can see the insperation I used! This theme was quite difficult actually and I spent alot of time doing Xion's hair (it took a lot of hairspray!) and making the newspaper outfit. Hopefully we fit the brief and hopefully we will get to stay another week in the competition!

Hope you like it! :)

CALLED: 01/11

I still have flour in my hair. it's quite unfortunate but hey I'm on winter break! these last two weeks have be unnecessarily stressful (thanks school, I appreciate it) but finally! Bring on two weeks of nothing.

+++++

ok, the vid isn't working so i'll give u guys the info

BTW!! There will be a twist at the end!!!

Kasia, Isabelle and Mika did no give in their photos

Giselle: this photo is gorgeous with a capital G!!! I love how you’re using your environment to take a spectacular shot. I love how you’re connecting with nature and how you look like someone who’s meant to be outside. This is fantastic shot!

Madalynn: this is a great shot. I love how your top and outfit matches the flowers and the flowers in you hair were in excellent touch. Your makeup is awesome, I find it gives it sort of a high fashion look. This photo is awesome. Good Job :)

Lauren: this photo is okay, but it’s not really what I asked for. Your outfit and scene doesn’t remind me of spring. If you would’ve titles this photo differently, I would’ve never thought that this was a spring photo. I don’t think your outfit is kind of spring like. And you kind of look like you’re standing there waiting for your boyfriend to stop peeing. This photo’s okay, but not really what I asked for.

Sophie: this is a huge improvement from the last 2 weeks! I am so so proud! OMG! I love this photo. It reminds me of the moments where it’s a little chilly in the spring but you don’t care, you go out in spring clothes anyway. I love how you didn’t go extreme on the makeup, spring is about light colors after all. This photo is great, keep up the good work.

Anna: this photo is awesome! I love it! I am in love with your hair and your outfit is amazingly gorgeous! I love love love the scenery and this photo is just awesome! Great job!

Sahara:, this photo is awesome! I love this! I love the quality, it isn’t grainy like last week. I love your scenery and your outfit and your hair is beautiful!

Evangeline: first I have to say, Holy Moly on the quality! It’s so much better than the last 2 themes! No more blurriness! And, omg, I love your outfit, it’s SO vintage-y beautiful! I love it, the hairband, jewelry, shoes, dress, and I love love LOVE your scenery! Great photo!

Jada: this photo is a bit disappointing. I love your background but your legs are cut off. Your hair is good but your not posing and for this theme it doesn’t really work. And your clothes aren’t really spring like

Couture-Hanami: this photo is ok but it could be better. The quality isn’t really improving but everything else is fine. I love your outfit and hair and the plant. It would’ve been better if you were outside. And I do wish you were facing the camera but this is still a pretty good photo.

Robin: this photo is flawless! I love this! I love you hair, outfit, hair piece scenery! Everything! Amazing job! Just... Wow!

Tori: this photo is really good actually! I really like it! I love your outfit and pose! I like your scenery and I think the quality has improved a lot more! This is an awesome photo!

Gia: this photo is awesome! I love your outfit and scenery and hair. The only thing is the lighting in your face, that kind of ruins the photo a bit, but I love love love everything

else!

Krystal: this photo is awesome! I love this! I love your outfit and hair! It looks like you went to a studio and took a professional photo shoot. I would've rathered you be outside but this photo is still awesome!

Frankie: you get better and better each week! This photo is so cute! I love it! I love your idea with the fairy wings it's adorable! I love your hair, outfit, scenery! It's just gorgeous! Great job!

Leslie: this photo is awesome! I love this so much! I love your outfit and hair and the quality is fantastic! Maybe if this photo was outside it would've been a little better but I still love this!

Bottom 2:

Kasia and Mika

Mika: Your photos haven't been strong in this competition and you haven't given in your photos for 2 weeks/themes

Kasia: You haven't given in your photos for 2 weeks

I'm sorry Mika, don't give up on your dreams of modelling

Congratulations Kasia, you have another chance to become BNTM!

So the twist is..... Allison is coming back! Yay!

So the next theme is Song Titles and I'll explain

there are 3 ways you can do this theme, I'll use Part of Me as an example

1. Make a photo about what the song (ex: Part of me is about a girl telling her ex to f off, lol)

2. Make a photo of the vid (ex: in part of me, the vid is about war)

3. Make a photo of your own story (ex: Dakota loved her boyfriend but he cheated, etc...)

Have fun guys! Photos are due Saturday May 5th!

So, I decided to finally make Ego, the father of Star Lord. So, I think that my favorite part of this minifigure is the freaking hair. It turned out great and accurate in my opinion. This is kind of a hard minifigure to make. And, yep! The face is a Legolas face xD I tried to make it look like Kurt Rusell and I think it does. the cape and the robes around his neck/chest weren't easy to make. If you want to get a full view of the detail I put onto his gauntlets and shoulder pads, you can go to my Instagram and check it out :) So, what do you guys think? Do you like it? Comment below! :D

P.S: I'll start Nebula tomorrow and then I'll wait for my Bricklink order to arrive, which could take around three weeks.

Hope you like this one guys!:D

In South India, Kanakambaram is the favourite flowers of ladies to put in their hair. It competes strongly with jasmine to adorn the south-Indian hair-do's.

I went outside today during a massive storm and took this.

I've been really unahppy with every photo I've taken lately, so I've decided to keep it simple and all the concepts I have in mind will have to wait.

I just want to thank you guys for your support. The other day, I received so many messages, not only through flickr, but formspring and tumblr and even facebook. It really makes me want to get back on my feet and keep fighting. I still have heaps of messages to, but I want you guys to know that I am really grateful of it all.

Oh and I was supposed to be taking the second photo of my colour project collaboration, but I wasn't happy with it. I'll try it again tomorrow.

Also, thank you Haley & Emma for your testimonials. <3

Catching up on my Flickr stream. Hope you guys like the massive update ~

What have I been up to... well, just busy with work, personal projects, and with pondering the meaning of life... i.e., my usual self.

Backlogged on all kinds of communication, as always, but maybe it's time to accept and forgive myself for being the most asocial person in the world.

I'll try.

Anyway, now please notice Pia's necklace in my hair.

I saw it over at beautiful Pia's photostream a while back and I verbally envied her for having it as a prop. And then Pia surprised me with an offer to mail it to me so I can take a picture with it. I thought that was just soo sweet :-) And so cool in some random, magical, surreal kind of way.

So I had it for a few months here, and being the perfectionist that I am, I wasn't pleased with any of the hundreds of photos I took... I guess I couldn't get excited about the piece as a necklace. It felt good in my hair, it felt good as a bracelet but why oh why was it eluding my neck? Who knows, but I finally gave in and here is the result.

Big heartful thanks from me to Pia!!

A birthday present from one of my dear friends!!

It's bigger then this but I had to help Gaia holding it :D it's her portrait from one of the pics I made of her with her red hair ♥_♥ it is soo, sooo gorgeous and Gaia is VERY proud and not quite humble about it. hahah!! :D

Andrena vaga, the grey-backed mining bee, is a species of solitary bee which is found in most of Europe..A. vaga is a large mining bee, 13-15mm in length, which has the entire thorax clothed in grey hairs, sometimes showing a slight buff tinge, the scopae and hind femorae have white hairs. It also has patches of white hairs on the abdomen sides.

I had not returned to Norfolk Southern's Pittsburgh line since NS decommissioned the CPLs in 2019. Like many railroads across America, the distinctive signals were themselves a draw to so many locations that became signatures on the railroad because of the signals. A few weeks ago, I wanted to check out the Station Inn, support the new folks carrying on that important legacy, and also shoot the Western Maryland's winter steam. So I made my return to the mountain, without the signals. It was harder than I thought it would be: one of my formative railfan experiences was watching heavy NS trains in the Alleghenies as a much younger man without all this damn gray hair. It was one of my first REAL solo trips on a real-deal mainline railroad. I returned to this venerable spot on the Jamestown road bridge, where CPLs once governed from this unique position on the road bridge. While it's sad and tough to see, I also do enjoy the juxtaposition here: the present carrying through with an ever present reminder of what 'progress' takes from us. In railroading, that is so often replacing the cool with the modern, which often is never as cool as the past. But if we don't shoot the present- it also becomes the past one day- and that doesn't help either if we don't capture it, does it?
