Happy Guy Fawkes Night.
Today we did our own display, costing a mere £35 and it was a marvellous!!! :D
This style was familiar with buses and trucks built by Guy from the early 1940s until the 1960s.The Red Indian head on the radiator filler cab was a terrific touch.
This guy is probably my favorite of Rita Repulsa's monsters, even if he looks oddly boob-filled, or oddly boil/blemish-filled. But EYES!

A pleasant evening on the Tableview beachfront
Shot these using a Pentax Asahi 55mm f/1.8 Prime Lens on my Canon EOS 500D Body using an adapter ring.
VERY pleased with the results.
The Aperture ring was wide-open at f/1.8 and focus was set to infinity.
I changed the focus during some of the exposures, but they all started at ∞.

This guy checks himself out in my car mirrors every day. He also may or may not be the daddy of the egg ( in the nest) behind the garage.
Wolverhampton based Guy made commercial vehicles for decades, but from 1919 to 1925 ventured into making cars.
The 20hp had some innovative features, including a 3909cc V8 with detachable cylinder heads, and automatic chassis lucubration.
A few smaller 4 cylinder models were introduced but the whole venture proved unsuccessful, though later on Guy bought Star motors and kept their range of cars in production for a time.
I'm not sure of the last digit of the Wolverhampton registration, I've tried them all online but not got any results.
Now if this was a colour picture it would look even more magnificent. But we shall have to make do with the B&W image of Accrington Corporation Transport 7 (JTE 223), a very smart looking Guy bodied Guy Arab III. It was new in 1948 and withdrawn in 1962, though I'm sure it was good for many more years service. Curse these new-fangled underfloor-engined saloons. They'll get their come-uppance one day!
I had the pleasure many years ago of travelling in an ex-Alexanders preserved example of this chassis and body combination.
