Tom was sitting on the second or third step leading to an upstairs apartment. I barely noticed him out of the corner of my eye and turned around and said 'howdy.' He seemed friendly enough, so I asked to take his picture. He was a little reluctant. I showed him a few of the other shots I'd taken on my walk and explained that it's more an obsession than anything else. He softened up a bit and let me take this one shot.
