Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night, is an annual commemoration observed on 5 November, primarily in Great Britain. It celebrates the failure of the Gunpowder Plot of 5 November 1605 as Guy Fawkes was discovered before he could assassinate the King by blowing up the Parliament ,
After WWII Guy Fawkes Night became a domestic celebration, and children often congregated on street corners, accompanied by their own effigy of Guy Fawkes. This was sometimes ornately dressed and sometimes a barely recognisable bundle of rags stuffed with whatever filling was suitable. Collecting money was a popular reason for their creation, the children taking their effigy from door to door, or displaying it on street corners calling 'a penny for the guy'.
I took this picture in the beautiful old city Český Krumlov.

The joy on this guy's face about his breakfast was almost enough to make me stop in McDonalds and get one for myself, but I had already had my old-person's breakfast (grapefruit and cottage cheese.) Howard Street, Chicago.

I was amused by this shop's attempt to convince passing "guys" that there was good "stuff" for them inside. Sanford, FL

I wear a greasy ball cap
I like my shirt un-tucked
I spend Saturdays working on my truck
I don't like to fight
But I ain't scared to bleed
Most don't mess with a guy like me
'Cause guys like me drink too many beers on Friday after work
Our best blue jeans have Skoal rings
We wear our boots to church
So rough around the edges
It's hard to believe that girls like you
Love guys like me
