Remember, Remember the 5th of November.
Within a few decades Gunpowder Treason Day, as it was known, became the predominant English state commemoration, but as it carried strong Protestant religious overtones it also became a focus for anti-Catholic sentiment. Puritans delivered sermons regarding the perceived dangers of popery, while during increasingly raucous celebrations common folk burnt effigies of popular hate-figures,
Settlers exported Guy Fawkes Night to overseas colonies, including some in North America, where it was known as Pope Day. Those festivities died out with the onset of the American Revolution. Claims that Guy Fawkes Night was a Protestant replacement for older customs like Samhain are disputed, although another old celebration, Halloween, has lately increased in popularity, and according to some writers, may threaten the continued observance of 5 November.
I observed some interesting animal behavior today. Mrs Jedi had just wiped down some pictures and was walking by Happy with this picture of Shadow. Happy started making his Happy sounds and kissy noises. We put the picture down on the table with Happy. My camera was close by and I managed to capture these images as he gave the picture another big kiss and kept saying "hi". Is it really possible this bird recognized this picture of his departed friend and had something nice to say to him?

Although he might be sporting an intimidating expression, this juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron was actually a milquetoast being harassed by an adult bird in the area. On Horsepen Bayou.

After working all night and with clouds rolling in I was hesitant to make the play on these guys this morning. I'm glad I did as the sun poked through and made it worth my time.
Taken from our boat as we went with about 500 others on a harbour cruise. These people were just sitting at a cafe as we pulled out from the wharf.
Thanks for visiting
A pair of Grahams Bus Service Guy Arabs loading passengers for Linwood outside Paisley Town Hall. Both buses appear to have Northern Counties bodywork of a nineteen fifties style. XS5626 would have entered service in 1945 fitted with an austerity body similar to that fitted to DUS425.

A similar bus, XS5625 also received new bodywork while the third vehicle in the batch, XS5627 retained its original austerity bodywork. From a collection purchased on e-bay. Photographer not known.

The little guy, soft and sweet,
often passed buy with little way
to show its talent in a tweet.
People rushing around
the world,
ideas pop up from within
an idea storm.
In the background
a face dose form,
Nature's face's,
no longer void,
now swarm.
Taking on the world's disease's,
it's visual catch's one off guard as
would your sneeze's.
Perhaps one day when the little guy
gets their chance,
the world will see Nature's Face's dance.

Those eyes... As far as spiders go, I’d say this little jumping spider is as cute as an arachnid can get! No bigger than 5 or 6mm in diameter!

This guy's plan was to poke people in the ass so they would move out of the way and he would be in the front.
Tavern Puzzles are reproductions of a type of puzzle traditionally forged by blacksmiths to amuse their friends at country taverns and inns. Keeping with tradition, a museum-trained blacksmith from Long Island has reproduced some of these antique designs as well as his own original designs. All the puzzles are handcrafted and individually assembled. Each puzzle is mechanical in nature; removal of the object piece does not rely on force or trickery. This one is called "Wise Guy" and is considered intermediate difficulty. Just remove the ring... I have a dozen of them, one of which I have yet to solve.
