After we took this picture, the two guys on the end were telling the shirtless guy he should put his shirt on. Yuri said that he looked good without it. The shirtless guy came back with, "Dude, are you gay?" Yuri responded, "As a matter of fact, yes." Mr. Shirtless said, "OK then, you're right. I look good without a shirt." It made me laugh more in person than while writing this...
A wartime Guy Arab, with austerity bodywork which would have been new to Glasgow Corporation and sold by them about 1950 to Grahams Bus Service of Paisley. This view looks west along Gauze Street. Note Craigs the baker and Patersons music shop on the left and the Grant's furniture van behind the bus. From a collection purchased on e-bay. Photographer not known.
made from the wine corks my 8-year old cousin gave me. she makes all kind of stuff from it, i.e. yesterday she made a terrestrial globe, cork-shaped globe :)

Mattress Guys (4,614 square feet)
4340 George Washington Memorial Highway, Heritage Square, Yorktown, VA
This store opened in April 2008 and closed in fall 2013; it was originally a McDonald's, which opened in summer 1979 and relocated here in fall 2002. It became a Mattress USA in 2003, which closed in November 2007, and an Eastern Floor Covering in February 2014, which closed in August 2025. The building was demolished in January 2026.
If you look real close, you can see the labelscar of the McDonald's logo next to the window (one of these). That window used to be the first drive-thru window, and the second was located under the extended part that the mattress store now uses as an alcove.

The plotters purchased the lease of a cellar directly beneath the House of Lords. Unused and filthy, it was considered an ideal hiding place for the gunpowder the plotters planned to store. According to Fawkes, 2 barrels of gunpowder were brought in at first, followed by 16 more on 20 July. On 28 July however, the ever-present threat of the plague delayed the opening of Parliament until Tuesday, 5 November 1605. Fawkes had taken up his station late on the previous night, armed with a slow match, He was to light the fuse and then escape across the Thames
Following an anonymous tip off, King James ordered Sir Thomas Knyvet to conduct a search of the cellars underneath Parliament, which he did in the early hours of 5 November, Fawkes was found in the cellar and arrested. Inside, many barrels of gunpowder were discovered hidden under piles of firewood and coal
