AIが主体となってコントロールする新しいテクノロジーに、人間としてどのように関わっていくのか。私たちは、アルゴリスムに影響された見方や考え方をしているため、崇高なものを信じることができないのだろうか。人間が直観的な存在でなくなっていくのを許しているのか？創造者から消費者になり、その変化の中で私たちは他の惑星に目を向けるようになった。例えば、火星の表面を超望遠鏡や衛星で調査し、生命体の存在を示す構造物を探している。私たちは、この得体の知れない惑星を居住可能にする可能性をも探っている。火星探査機が送り込まれ、選ばれた数人が宇宙での最初の植民者になるために育成されている。新しい世界を求める気持ちが先行して、古い世界がおろそかになっているのではないか？私たちの生活様式に起因する災害に見舞われても、地球は私たちの魂の源である。現代の人間には、魂からの個人的な意識に到達するのか、それとも脱出するためにAIのシートに座るのか、という二重の闘いが起こっているようだ。私は「The Act of Painting, Structures on Mars」展のキュレーターとして、魂を基本に動いているが、新しい世代が自分自身から離れていき、アルゴリズムにどんどん誘導されていくのを目の当たりにしている。今回の展示では、移行のジレンマが私自身の思考のきっかけとなっている。

How do we as humans relate to new technologies that are mainly controlled by AI? Are we incapable of believing in the sublime because of our algorism-influenced views and thinking? Are we allowing humans to become less and less intuitive? We have gone from being creators to consumers, and in that change we have turned our attention to other planets. For example, we are surveying the surface of Mars with ultra telescopes and satellites, looking for structures that indicate the presence of life. We are also exploring the possibility of making this mysterious planet habitable. Mars rovers are being sent and a select few are being groomed to become the first colonists in space. Isn't it possible that our desire for a new world is getting ahead of us and we are neglecting the old world? The earth is the source of our souls, even though we suffer from disasters caused by our lifestyle. There seems to be a double struggle going on for humans today: to reach personal consciousness from the soul, or to sit in the seat of AI to escape. As the curator of the exhibition "The Act of Painting, Structures on Mars," I am working on the basis of the soul, but I am witnessing a new generation moving away from itself and being guided more and more by algorithms. In this exhibition, the dilemma of transition has become a trigger for my own thinking.

Hoe verhouden wij ons als mens tot nieuwe technologieën die voornamelijk door AI bestuurd worden? Laten we onze manier van kijken en denken beïnvloeden door al- goritmes en geloven we daardoor nauwelijks nog in het sublieme? Laten we de mens steeds minder een intuïtief wezen zijn? Van makers worden we consumenten en we kijken in die transitie gretig uit naar andere planeten. Zo bestuderen we het oppervlak van Mars met supertelescopen en satellieten, zoekend naar structuren die op leven wijzen. We verkennen zelfs de mogelijkheden om die onaardse planeet bewoonbaar te maken. Marsrovers zijn vooruitgestuurd als verkenners en uitverkorenen worden klaargestoomd om de eerste kolonisten in de ruimte te worden. Is de drang naar een nieuwe wereld zo overheersend dat we de oude wereld verwaarlozen? Geteisterd door rampen die door onze manier van leven zijn aangewakkerd is de aarde nog steeds de bron van onze ziel. In de mens nu lijkt een tweestrijd gaande: vanuit de ziel tot een persoonlijk bewustzijn komen of in de schietstoel van AI plaatsnemen? Als samen- steller van de tentoonstelling The Act of Painting, Structures on Mars, neem ik de ziel als basis, maar zie ook nieuwe generaties wegdriften van zichzelf en meer en meer gestuurd worden door het algoritme. Het dilemma van de transitie vormt in deze ten- toonstelling de katalysator van het eigen denken.

「ノエルの贈り物」展は 3.11 をきっかけにスタートしたチャリティー展です。アーティストによる版画、コラージュ、ドローイングなどのオリジナルカードや小さな作品を販売し、子どもたちの保養・検診費支援を行っている「未来の福島こども基金に寄附しています。
約２年に渡るコロナ禍で、日本の子どもたちの貧困率が
7 人に 1 人とさらに上昇しているとのことから、子どもたちへの直接支援、政策提言、研究会 などを行なっている「あすのば」へも売上げの30% からそれぞれ寄付することにしました。微力ながら多くの方に応援いただけたら嬉しいです。

Tea-bot is my contribution to This Little Teapot Exhibition. I discovered by turning the teapot upside down and placing the lid on the base it resembled a face with it's little nose and a remarkably asian looking hat. The teapot was painted to resemble a rusty boiler like body complete with rivets...adding a little steampunk influence. I liked the idea of fusing old and new, so the traditional japanese blossoms were added for contrast The addition of the symbol on his front was an influence from the Thunderbirds, it is simply a stylized no.7. The transmitter aerial was added and fitted neatly within the lid's little flue hole. The explosion is borrowed from other sculptures I have created, such as Roy's Fusion www.flickr.com/photos/theartoftez/3464404307/ and 19XX www.flickr.com/photos/theartoftez/sets/72157626100131898/ , and is a direct homage to the pop artist Lichtenstein and also draws from the Thunderbirds... "Tea-bots are Go!"

［概要文］
「いんすぴ」これやん展は、アートの販売サイト“これやん”とパークホテル東京がコラボレーションして生まれたプロジェクトです。この企画では日本の芸術・文化を世界に伝えるために、日本文化を体現するコミュニケーション・ツールである“ことば”に注目しました。さまざまな意味を持つ日本のことばの奥深さを、アート作品として表現するのに加え、ことばから生まれたインスピレーションは作者と受け手が共有できるのか――？ ことばをモチーフにすることで変化する、イメージの共有をテーマとしています。
この展示では、これやんとパークホテルに所縁のある60人のアーティストたちに、日本に根づいた“ことば”を提示し、そこから感じたインスピレーションをもとに自由に作品を制作してもらいました。絵画・立体・工芸といったジャンルはもちろん、年齢も性別も超えて、ことばから生み出された60通りの“いんすぴ”。その閃きを感じながら、カルタの“絵合わせ”のような直感的な楽しさを味わっていただければ幸いです。

Koreyan Exhibition “INSPI” is held by the art E-commerce site Koreyan in collaboration with Park Hotel Tokyo as known as the Art Hotel. The purpose of this exhibition is to show Japanese culture through the inspirations of Japanese artists.
We picked 60 heartwarming Japanese phrases and threw them to 60 artists.
How do they get inspired from those words? What do they create from the inspirations?
The answer is in their artworks.
We hope you can enjoy the interaction between 60 Japanese phrases and 60 arts inspired by them.

ギャラリー蚕室ではお着物（和装）関連の小物を制作する作家さんとのご縁がオープン以来ありました。
日常に着物から離れている店主にとっては、展示や企画においでになるお客さま方の「作家の手仕事」に対する理解の高さや、色合わせや柄の楽しみ方などファッションを超えたクリエイティブさに日々驚かされております。
今回は蚕室7年目に入り様々な素材の作家さんが作る帯留めやブローチが、お着物のお客様の手に渡りどのように楽しまれるのか？！蚕室に展示頂く様々な素材や表現の作家さんがた10名に参加いただき、一堂に展示販売いたします。
また八王子の坂本呉服店さんのご協力もあり、空間づくりもまた楽しみです。

The Great Longing – The Act of Painting
Our summer exhibition – The Great Longing -– features some twenty contemporary artists, principally from the Netherlands and Sweden, working in the field of abstract art and exploring their varied forms of expression in the widest sense. The exhibition includes everything from powerfully expressive abstract paintings to more subdued, analytical forms of expression. The participating artists make use of numerous different methods including alchemical processes, linguistic experiments, or more intuitive and experimental approaches.
The participating artists are: Katarina Andersson, Raymond Cuijpers, Julius Göthlin, Lukas Göthman, Wieteke Heldens, Jeroen Hofhuizen, Yukako Isobe, Rudy Klomp, André Kruysen, Ray Moon, Mayako Nakamura, Jacco Olivier, Bella Rune, Astrid Sylwan, Jim Thorell, Cole Verhoeven, Charlotte Warsen and Johan Zetterquist.
The artists mainly based in the Netherlands have previously worked together under the name TAOP – The Act of Painting. They function as an artists’ collective in which Raymond Cuijpers and Jeroen Hofhuizen are the main driving force and curate and organize exhibitions in various parts of the world. At each exhibition they seek to achieve a site-specific character by inviting participation from artists in the country in which they are exhibiting.
Even though the membership of TAOPs is constantly changing, the intuitive process remains particularly important and in focus. The creative act – the actual business of painting, of linking together the inner and outer worlds. In the actual, creative moment there is often an intense sense of presence, and so creativity itself forms a longing for this.
Among the Swedish participants there are established artists like Katarina Andersson, Astrid Sylwan, Lukas Göthman and Bella Rune, Johan Zetterquist, as well as a somewhat younger generation of painters like Julius Göthlin and Jim Thorell. The Swedish artists lack the common starting point of their Dutch colleagues, but base their work on rather more varied experiences and cross-border themes.
Normally, abstract or non-figurative art is not concerned with imitating or depicting an outer reality but lets such formal aspects as relationships of colour and form speak their own language or poetry. It is now more than a hundred years since the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky created the first abstract work in 1911, though here in Sweden Hilma af Klint was creating abstract paintings at about the same time, even though these were not exhibited. Both painters are concerned with a spiritual dimension in art.
After the end of World War II abstract art enjoyed a major breakthrough, becoming synonymous with modernity. During the 1950s and 1960s, minimalism and abstract expressionism also became popular. The Great Longing provides us with an insight into what abstract art can look like today.
Curators of the exhibition are Raymond Cuijpers, Lukas Göthman och Agneta von Zeipel, the last two being responsible for the Swedish participants.
