In collaboration, Jesus and I find ourselves working parallel to each other: understanding and miscommunication, activity and inactivity, strength and weakness and time are present as motivation and hindrance but all move in the same direction.
In presenting the transparencies, our aim is to emphasize equal parts understanding and miscommunication with the people one collaborates with; legibility and illegibility of the art process play into this concept. In the partial thoughts of our notebooks, the illegible layers of the transparencies give the audience a glimpse of another’s thoughts for themselves.

Jesus Mejia (b. 1983, Chicago IL) received his BFA in Fine Arts from Columbia College in 2009, & Ruth (Karen Bovinich, b. 1986, Dallas TX) in 2010. Beginning work as a collaboration in 2011, the sculpture, installation and performance work of JMR is influenced by subtle gesture and build up of the everyday. Past exhibitions include HOME: Public or Private at 6018NORTH, Sic Transit Gloria Mundi: Industry of the Ordinary at the Chicago Cultural Center and Conduit: I AM Logan Square. JMR were residents of Hyde Park Art Center’s Center Program, 2013. Jesus Mejia & Ruth currently live and work in Chicago, IL.
Brett's project We'll Leave The Light On For Ya showcases a basement located in a Columbia University building in Harlem that has a thrilling labyrinth of rooms filled with ancient electronic equipment, decades of old trash, and a strange assemblage of odds and ends, like something out of an old science fiction film. In reality it did have a history of wild science experiments gone deathly wrong: it was one of the original sites of the Manhattan Project, the operation that developed the atomic bomb. JIMOTOのコンセプトである「人の縁がつながってゆく」を高尾駒木野庭園に落とし込むことで、何が起きるのか。作り手、作品、人の思いをどのように変化させ、新たなつながりを作ってゆくのか。ここだから出来ること、ここでなければ出来ないこと、そんなことを見つけるきっかけになる企画にしたいと考えています。参加作家による作品展示と販売、小冊子JIMOTOで取上げた店舗の商品の販売、飲食の提供、ワークショップを企画しています。

“Pronto” è un’istallazione tridimensionale posta all’interno di una delle stanze della Reggia di Caserta. La cabina telefonica, oggetto ormai raro o in disuso, viene utilizzato in maniera provocatoria per la decontestualizzazione che produce all’interno del palazzo reale. Uno spazio abitabile minimo, accessibile a chiunque si trova nella residenza più grande al mondo. La scelta della nazionalità della cabina, cinese, invece si riferisce con ironia al fatto che ormai dobbiamo ricorrere alle nuove grandi potenze economiche per mantenere il nostro patrimonio culturale.

As the youngest participant of the show "jetzt hier. Gegenwartskunst. aus dem Kunstfonds" I'm happy to announce as well the publishing of a well done small catalogue for the show. It's more like a booklet that reminds me on another nice catalogue i had years ago in my hands. Maybe the aim was to make a booklet that fit's into a bag of art collectors and world travelling curators instead of producing another heavy weight book. I really like the idea and the price is fair,too - only 5€. But the catalogue is not the only thing i like to promote. Today i offer a guided tour in Dresden - Friedrichstadt - to Murals and public interventions in Dresden-Friedrichstadt - feel free to come around - start 4 p.m. - Adlergasse 14 / riesa efau entrance - there is no fee - donations are always welcome.

主催＝これやん、パークホテル東京
［概要文］
「いんすぴ」これやん展は、アートの販売サイト“これやん”とパークホテル東京がコラボレーションして生まれたプロジェクトです。この企画では日本の芸術・文化を世界に伝えるために、日本文化を体現するコミュニケーション・ツールである“ことば”に注目しました。さまざまな意味を持つ日本のことばの奥深さを、アート作品として表現するのに加え、ことばから生まれたインスピレーションは作者と受け手が共有できるのか――？ ことばをモチーフにすることで変化する、イメージの共有をテーマとしています。
この展示では、これやんとパークホテルに所縁のある60人のアーティストたちに、日本に根づいた“ことば”を提示し、そこから感じたインスピレーションをもとに自由に作品を制作してもらいました。絵画・立体・工芸といったジャンルはもちろん、年齢も性別も超えて、ことばから生み出された60通りの“いんすぴ”。その閃きを感じながら、カルタの“絵合わせ”のような直感的な楽しさを味わっていただければ幸いです。

Koreyan Exhibition “INSPI” is held by the art E-commerce site Koreyan in collaboration with Park Hotel Tokyo as known as the Art Hotel. The purpose of this exhibition is to show Japanese culture through the inspirations of Japanese artists.
We picked 60 heartwarming Japanese phrases and threw them to 60 artists.
How do they get inspired from those words? What do they create from the inspirations?
The answer is in their artworks.
We hope you can enjoy the interaction between 60 Japanese phrases and 60 arts inspired by them.

Please help me understand the Philippines by making emblematic figurations of its history with me.
Several years ago, on one of my trips to Manila, I purchased several books about the Philippines. A few were fiction, some were accounts of political uprisings, others were based on documentation from invading forces, and of course those from an internal lens. I’ve not been able to read through all of these books, so they have merely become an accumulation of resources about a place that I desire to know more about.
I invite you to take part in my investigation of the Philippines by picking up one of my books, reading a few passages, and envisioning the historical event or topic. Using the manila folder, create an emblematic representation by way of a silhouette or shape of that historical node you’ve envisioned.

Biography
Mark Alcazar Diaz was born in Manila and currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. He is an artist and educator having worked with inner city youth on public arts projects through local community arts initiatives. He held positions at Street-Level Youth Media and Cooperative Image Group. Currently, he manages teacher and artist collaborative residencies in Chicago public schools with Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education. He received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois Chicago and has exhibited throughout the Chicago region.
Artist Statement
Through a fluctuation of time and space I focus on a journey - real and metaphorical - within which localities overlap and blend. I’m an interdisciplinary artist, working across media to evoke a juncture between the visible and invisible, precision and vagueness, the here and there, developing and developed, force and seduction, and the internal and external. I articulate through my work the inevitability of a persistence of memory and a constant nostalgia for a place and a location. Lastly, I probe the trials and gestures required to re-orient oneself and the lure and desire of finding a place in a jetsam of modern/colonial memories.
