The light at Griddle Cafe isn't the greatest. So, I thought some parking lot light would give a better idea of the texture and apple yummy-ness that is the Teacher's Pet.

Pancakes cook on a griddle Sept. 11 aboard Camp Foster after the 9/11 Remembrance Run. The run commemorated the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and was organized and coordinated by United Services Organization Okinawa and the Single Marine Program on Okinawa. More than 870 service members and their families participated in the five-kilometer run along a candle-lit path. Participants dressed in red, white and blue clothes to show their patriotism. After the run, the USO and volunteers with SMP provided and served a free pancake breakfast for the participants.

Teppanyaki (鉄板焼き, teppan'yaki) is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan (鉄板), which means iron plate, and yaki (焼き), which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. In Japan, teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki.
Modern Teppanyaki grills are typically propane heated flat surface grills and are widely used to cook food in front of guests at restaurants. Teppanyaki grills are commonly confused with the Hibachi Grill, which has a charcoal or gas flame and is made with an open grate design. With a solid griddle type cook surface the Teppanyaki is more suitable for cuisine that calls for smaller ingredients such as rice, egg, and finely chopped vegetables.

Just a regular piece of steak, but I used my new cast iron griddle to get those nice burn marks and it turned out looking pretty good :)
I made myself a pair of fat, fluffy chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast this morning. It was an excellent accompaniment to the winter storm.

Who needs a BBQ when you can have one of these. I don't know how hot these things get but the dosa took seconds to cook. As we were on top of a building roof sometimes the wind would pick up and the embers from the charcoal would ignite and the flames would lick over the edge.

Great outdoor cooking on a 58cm Griddle pan. Asparagus wrapped in bacon, fried potatoes and chunks of steak.
Gammon or bacon steaks are often served simply fried and with a pineapple ring on top. This bacon medallion steaks recipe goes a lot further by griddling them on a cast iron griddle pan and serving them with an ingeniously deconstructed fried egg, salsa and homemade onion rings.
