Scott, Sock and Fyero all enjoying the simple view of our backyard after dinner this evening.
I was just finishing up with the dishes and getting the garbage ready to go out when I notice the two fur babies sitting by the door, I grabbed my camera to snap a quick shot and who should come around the corner but Scott.
Of course he decided to jump in and that's how I ended up with another shot of this trio. At least they're awake this time.

Generally, if you have a camera in hand people tend to pay a lot of attention to you; worried you'll aim it in their general direction.
One of the joys and at the same time one of the frustrations with animals is that they generally don't care if you have a camera in hand. They're going to go about whatever they were doing whether of not this bulky object is pointed at them.
Then there's Fyero, who will go out of her way to make sure that whatever you were hoping for doesn't happen. Once in a while it works in the photographers favour, but generally, she wins the battle.

a commemorative portrait of my nieces cat. This one took a couple of months ; Initially I worked this as a drawing , using graphite , prisma and water color pencils . eventually I was painting on it.. so truly a mixed media piece ..
Fyero was not impressed with Scott's attempt at cuddles this afternoon.
She made no attempt to hide her feelings, he however was elated to have a moment with kitty.
It didn't last long but it did make for a good photo, so win win!

There first snow..sitting in the barn window looking out. They just came from there cozy and warm garage and not to sure about the white stuff. Check out the other photo's.
This is a close-up photograph of a gray cat figurine or sculpture, framed from roughly the chest upward. The figure has a matte, finely textured surface with carved or molded lines suggesting short fur. The dominant gray palette is interrupted by bright yellow-green eyes, which become the immediate focal point.
The cat is positioned toward the right side of the frame, leaving a large area of soft, empty gray space on the left. Its head is slightly asymmetrical in the composition, and the direct gaze gives the object an unexpectedly alert, almost living presence.
Discussion
The design appears to evoke a blue-gray, green-eyed cat, particularly something in the visual territory of a Russian Blue or Korat. I would not identify the figurine as a specific breed without information from the maker. Russian Blues are characterized by a blue-gray, silver-tipped coat and vivid green eyes; Korats likewise have silver-blue coats and luminous green eyes.
Photographically, the strongest element is the contrast between the nearly monochromatic sculpture and the saturated eyes. The shallow apparent depth of field and smooth background eliminate distractions, while the extensive negative space makes the face seem to emerge from the gray field.
The lighting is relatively hard on the face, producing distinct highlights in both eyes and emphasizing the molded fur texture. The eye on the viewer's right is particularly effective because the iris, pupil and catchlight are sharply defined. The slightly imperfect handmade appearance of the muzzle and nose also prevents the figure from looking mechanically manufactured.
Fyero loving the sun as it came into the bedroom one day last week; who could resist a quick snap of her enjoying the good life?

Fyero was a little annoyed with me today; I had to go back to work after spending so much time at home with her.
So when I came home and started pestering her with the camera she was a little peeved and tried to ignore me.
I persisted and ended up with a decent shot of her, so it's a win for me and I fed her dinner a little early so she wins too!

I was pestering Fyero while she out trying to enjoy some grass this afternoon. I think her opinion of me calling for her attention is pretty obvious in this shot.

I needed a few more pyramids for the Thousand Pyramids quilt I'm working on, and I got a bit carried away. On the bright side, I now have nearly enough for another quilt!
