Photo of the day April 17, 2026 - Gus, and Piper relaxing this evening.

Scott and I had to run a few errands this morning after breakfast and apparently that just exhausted him (and Fyero, by proxy) to the point an afternoon nap was mandatory.

I jumped at the opportunity to a capture another "day in the life" style shot, I'm trying to focus my photography more on daily life this year and have been enjoying the results so far.

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday.

Even though I do have a gray cat, this one belongs to my friends. We were out on the patio and their cat was looking out the window at something quite intently.

Fyero basking in the afternoon sun on a lazy Sunday afternoon; who can blame her really? It does look relaxing!

Hope everyone has had a good day.

The industrial finish on the boarding room floor looks pretty good when it's all blurred! Dash looks pretty good too.

Vegas is a one year old British Shorthair boarding with us for the first time. She is one of the cutest cats I've ever seen and I wanted to get a good picture of her but because she's so young she never stood still long enough for me to do so. Two of my co-workers decided to help and I'm so glad they did. I laugh every time I see Vegas' expression.

Cats seem to find me and so there will never be a need for me to go out and buy a purebred. However, after meeting many cats of very possible breed, if I were to buy a cat, it would be a British Shorthair. I've liked every one of them I've met. They all seem to be mellow, easy going, social and incredibly cute.

Fyero decided to show us all just how to be properly zen this afternoon; I was poking about, trying to figure out what I could shoot for the day when she decided for me.

Who could resist such a cutie? Not me, that's for sure.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Before the rain hit us this afternoon, Fyero ventured outside to enjoy a bit of sunshine and a snack of the tall grass. She made it just in time too, Bob was out after she came in to mow his lawn.

I'm not really sure what caught her attention when I snapped this but she was not taking her eyes off Sock who was over a bit and becoming a little too excitable because Gord stopped to pay attention to him.

Either way; it's a cute shot and I find her expression of annoyed curiosity hilarious.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Fyero had a bath this weekend, so while she now smells great her fur is a mess. Knots everywhere and I tackled a lot of them today; which is why she had a bit of a cranky face in this shot.

She hates when I work knots out of her fur so she's been spoiled with treats while I buy her love back.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Just patiently waiting for me to finish using one of his favorite spots - the desk by the window.

It was just about a year ago that Shadow, the cat I had been fostering, found his forever family. He was nine years old and had lived in Florida his whole life and yet seeing snow for the first time did not slow him down a bit! He was pretty much a perfect cat. Unfortunately, my angels would have nothing to do with it.

This picture was taken last winter. We haven't had snow like that yet this year but we may this weekend. At the moment all we have is frozen rain and black ice.

He's watching our back deck and the neighbor's yard (and probably the pug that's always in their window).

This is Foots. The reason he got that name because he had 6 toes on both of his front paws! He was a very solid built cat with a deep voice! We had him since he was a kitten. Sadly early this month, he passed away. He, along with his son, got ran over by a car. It devastated me and my family. This is a photo of Foots that was taken last year on that morning in my back yard. I like the way he posed. The shadowing and the lighting gave that Foots that Super Cat look!

RIP Foots and his son Foots Junior! You two enough your new life at the Rainbow Bridge!

Sock got a little too close yesterday and Fyero was not too pleased about the lack of personal space.

Luckily I had my camera in hand and was actually able to grab this shot.

It's a regular occurrence in our daily lives but I never seem to have a camera in hand and pointed in the right direction when the moment happens.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

I've been feeling under the weather the past couple of days and honestly photography had fallen to very low on the priority scale so I apologize for the blah photos I'm uploading late, but hey, life is like that.

So yesterday I snapped a quick shot of Fyero and called it a day for photography and went back to the couch to enjoy my tea and Netflix.

Boring. Hopefully I'm at 100% again soon. I'm not great at sitting around doing nothing all day.

Hope everyone had a good Tuesday.

While trying to set up Boo To You fabrics for a shot, my helper came over and laid down in the middle of the shot!
