""'''O,…….. are you tired and want to sleep?

Found this little poem about a grasshopper on the internet. No name about the author.
Happy Sliders Sunday ;-))
The stubby-tailed and bull-necked Grasshopper Sparrow is easy to overlook throughout its range. When not singing its quiet, insectlike song from atop a stalk in a weedy pasture, it disappears into the grasses where it usually runs along the ground rather than flies. As sparrows go these birds are lightly marked, buffy tan with clean, unstreaked underparts contrasting with brown, gray, and orange above. The flat head, with an almost comically large bill for such a small bird, completes the distinctive look.

A lovely morning's bug hunting with insect mad friends, just like old times. The meadow was literally hopping with a variety of different grasshoppers ...
This morning this specimen was on a glass panel on the rear deck of my house in the Gold Coast hinterland. I am still trying to identify it correctly.
Later, still not sure but possibly a Creek Grasshopper( Bermius odontocerus) or Eastern Toothed Bermius.
Type?
Locust, um, antennae seem too long, anyone?
After searching about, it seems that is it not a grasshopper. Ophiuchus suggested the info, thanks.
Many thanks to you ALL for the views, faves and comments you make on my shots it is very appreciated

Grasshoppers seem to prefer flowers as a resting spot. This one chose an aster plant at Wright-Locke Farm.
grasshopper warbler
another first for me ! this one was really hard to spot , favouring deep undergrowth low to the ground.
thank you for viewing and commenting on my photographs it is much appreciated .
The grasshoppers seem to be in huge numbers this year. At least it's one insect that isn't declining in numbers.
This was a tough shot to make and keep it sharp. I had the right lens on, but the wind was making it tough. I wanted the lens to be wide open to keep the background blurry and the bokeh balls round, so I was also making it hard on myself.
In the end, I like the image.
Also, what's going on down there in the lower right corner? Another hopper's antenna?

A grasshopper from Griffith NSW. According to iNaturalist, it’s a slender Gum Leaf Grasshopper, Goniaea vocans. I was out early in the morning and as I was walking through the grass, this guy sprung into view. The sky gave a nice contrast against its orangey-tan tones. ———————————————Single outdoor handheld shot, with an Olympus em5 mkii, 60mm M.Zuiko lens. Godox V350o Flash. F11, iso 200, shutter 1/100. I didn't realize until just now that there's another invertebrate subject in this image...some hairy legs gave it away...

Grasshopper cannot stop her roaming,
And her home and friends
Don't mean anything no more.
Showstopper, you cannot top her.
With a cowboy grace,
Can't stay in one place
Too long (too long).
Topper, she told such a whopper,
But everyone knows
When winter comes
Grasshoppers go.
