Chorthippus parallelus, the meadow grasshopper, is a common species of grasshopper found in non-arid grasslands throughout the well vegetated areas of Europe and some adjoining areas of Asia.

Stay safe!
The grasshopper is enjoying the sun, while the ant is working hard. Carrying a fellow ant back home?…..or is this food for the little ones at home?

The 2nd (and probably last) grasshopper image. I wanted one in colour and one in black and white.. Job Done!
These will not sit still and if you approach them they will keep moving away. One works up much persperation when photographing these in summer. I wanted to include what they look like when born for to see the comparison of changes in their body patterns amazing to me.As you can see this one's wings are still not fully developed so it can't fly but when I tapped it with my finger it spread what it had of them
Appropriately for this species, grasshoppers are the primary prey. Adults prepare grasshoppers for chicks by removing the legs of the insects, vigorously shaking them off pair by pair.
Thank you all who fave and comment on my photo'/video's,much appreciated.

Usually hard to see, this wee bird was happy to sing for the camera at the same spot for two days. His favourite perch is a few metres from a track used by hillwalkers. This was at the end of the breeding season so we were very lucky to get such an opportunity.
This perch was along a busy fence line bordering some open grassy pasture land. This sparrow was singing along this fence line and would frequent this perch which produced an isolated effect.
