Trying out a gradient with the new Zoyas. Needs a little practice (and a little cleanup!) but not bad for a bored Sunday afternoon!

24th June 2012 marked the centenary of the branch line from Bulle to Broc-Fabrique. This short branch line near Gruyères, Switzerland, was built primarily to serve the Cailler chocolate factory, which it still does to this day.

For the centenary weekend the current operators of the line (Transports Publics Fribourgeois) organised a superb special event, in collaboration with with two local railway preservation groups, local industries, schools and community organisations. An enhanced timetable was operated on the branch using several historic trains, with free travel for all. Special displays and events were put on at the stations, and fine weather was pre-arranged!

Each day, three steam-hauled round trips were operated. BFD3 from the Blonay-Chamby is a powerful 2-6-0RT, and is seen here climbing the 1:20 gradient out of Broc-Fabrique at 11:24 on 23rd June.

Shibui Knits' (free) pattern and their Silk Cloud yarn. I love both. The yarn is knit with 3 strands held together and it makes the warmest, softest fabric while still being light and comfortable.

Side note: I recently acquired a Pakon F135 plus scanner, and it's a major upgrade from my Epson V600. This is an example of a shot that would have looked very noisy on the Epson but looks great on the Pakon.

A cool squared geek chic retro shape with gradient contrasting coloured front, similar to the vintage styles worn by celebrities like Johnny Depp and Woody Allen. Its chunky profile comes with perfectly cut lenses and polished frames that brings you a nerdy yet elegant retro charm.

Farmstead cheese production is pretty fascinating, & we’ll take a tour of the farm & the cheese-making operation. Everything is a factor: the goats & sheep, the grass, the weather, the milk, the cheesemakers’ skill & dedication. It all comes together to form the cheese on the plate. Chef Emry of Q Wood Fired Grill in nearby Waitsburg is a master of cooking w/ flame. Emry grew up on a ranch & has authentic cowboy cooking skills. Sandy handles the beverages w/ a degree in enology & viticulture.

Found this one in a tiny little mom-and-pop antique shop on my way to do some sight-seeing in Kyoto. I think it got pushed around in the wardrobe while I was abroad, and it's in need of some TLC to bring it back to its former glory.

i want see what i could do with gmic starting from a little render of a simple gradient

and i got almost lost i could do much more then i hoped and i love some of them almost as selfstanding images

Man... I love Bermuda.

While I'm home I often drive my bike with my cameras around my neck (40D with 24-70 around my neck and 30D with 70-200/2.8L over my shoulder) because there is something beautiful to capture everywhere, whether it be the architecture or just the coast! I'm always worried of falling and destroying my cameras though... lol.

This one reminds me of uric acid crystals in a urine specimen (only more colourful). What can I say, I'm a laboratory technologist by day!

Odawara City

October 2014

Because of Carmeggedon we spent the weekend in LA, Jason had to be on call for work, so we made a little weekend of it. On Saturday the boys did Hollywood and I treated myself to a solo adventure at the LA Arboretum. It was gorgeous! 127 acres of gardens, ponds with all sorts of things to see, explore and discover. My set follows my day in the order I took them and each photo is sooc. no editing.
