The last remaining intact gradient marker on the Flitch Way, the former Braintree to Bishop's Stortford line. Just to the east of Felsted, the picture looks toward the station with the former bridge abutments for crossing Station Rd just beyond the scrub to the right.

 

Passenger services were cut on this line in 1952 with the line remaining open to goods beyond Dr Beeching's axe.

Materials: Camera at SF City Hall

 

Idea: To capture the symmetry of the architecture, and the gradient from light to dark

 

Process: I took the picture, cropped it in post, and adjusted exposure. I color-graded it to have a purple/yellow color grade.

From Gorham Mountain, one can see Cadillac Mountain and the valley between the two mountains where the foliage was almost fluorescent. I used a blend of two exposures to cover the highlights in the sky to the West just after sunset and not lose the detail in the landscape. Best viewed large.
